Lita aka Amy Dumas aka Miss Congeniality

Wanna go way back in female wrestling's past?
Well here is former WWE Diva Lita aka Amy Dumas when she was Miss Congeniality (and later Angelica) back in the ECW.
Okay it seems like a long time ago to me...but you know it was 1999...that was only 13 years ago, so Amy must have been about 24 in this pic.
She looks younger.

Lita aka Amy Dumas aka Miss Congeniality

Of course when Amy joined ECW, she had already been working for wrestling promotions like Empresa Mexicana de la Lucha Libre in Mexico, Maryland Championship Wrestling (MCW) and NWA Mid-Atlantic.

Tammy Lynn Sytch / Sunny, part 3

ECW, female wrestlers, female wrestling, fighting

After being released from WCW, the Tammy and Chris landed in Xtreme Pro Wrestling where she managed Candido to the XPW World Heavyweight Wrestling Title. Candido and Sytch parted ways with XPW and started touring other indy wrestling promotions. Meanwhile, Sytch formed a business relationship with Missy Hyatt, and the two created the website Wrestling Vixxxens in July 2001. Along with a few other women loosely affiliated with wrestling at the time, they posed for the website and charged people to view the pictures. In the spring of 2003, Sytch & Candido moved to Puerto Rico and were set to work for Victor Quinones' International Wrestling Association promotion. However, Sabu convinced them to work for Carlos Colon's rival World Wrestling Council promotion instead. After six months, the couple quit the promotion and headed back to the States. Upon their return to the States, both Sytch and Candido briefly lived with former ECW wrestler Hack Myers in his home in Florida.

After the death of Chris Candido, it did not take long for Sytch to become regularly involved in the independent circuit again. Sytch made appearances as a referee for NWS Wrestling in May 2005 and attended a Chris Candido Memorial show on June 4, 2005. Also, Sytch was a part of Hardcore Homecoming on June 10, 2005. She first came out with Johnny Grunge and Pit Bull #1 to do a tribute to former ECW wrestlers who had recently died. Among those honored were Candido, Pit Bull #2, and Rocco Rock. They were interrupted by Danny Doring and Roadkill, but 911 cleared them out of the ring. 911 then proceeded to pick up Sytch and place her on his shoulder, but 911's knee buckled and they both toppled to the canvas. Sytch proceeded to laugh off the incident.

Tammy Lynn Sytch / Sunny, part 2

ECW, female wrestlers, female wrestling, fighting

Once she was released from the WWF, Tammy officially made the announcement at Heat Wave '98 that she was now a full-time ECW employee. Now billed as Tammy Lynn Sytch, she aided Chris Candido in his win over Lance Storm. As their feud moved forward, Storm introduced his own valet "Tammy Lynn Bytch". The quartet had several mixed tag team matches against each other. Candido being a member of the Triple Threat stable (where Shane Douglas was being managed by Francine) eventually led to a Francine/Sytch feud that caused the group to break up. In October 1999 on an episode of ECW on TNN, Paul Heyman got Sytch to talk openly about her past drug issues and reformation. Candido and Sytch left the promotion in December 1999.

In between a brief stop for Xtreme Pro Wrestling in early 2000, Tammy and Candido signed on with WCW. Candido debuted in March of that year, joining the New Blood, and Sytch debuted one month later. She debuted in WCW at Spring Stampede in 2000; she distracted The Artist Formerly Known as Prince Iaukea, while dressed in a chicken suit, during a six-way bout for the vacant WCW Cruiserweight Championship, enabling Candido to win. She then feuded with Iaukea's valet Paisley, with the two having several catfights. The short-lived feud came to a conclusion at Slamboree when The Artist and Paisley stripped Tammy's dress off to reveal her undergarments following Candido's singles victory over Iaukea. Sytch and Candido then dubbed themselves "the first couple of wrestling" and briefly feuded with Crowbar and Daffney. Candido dropped the belt when Daffney pinned Sytch in a Mixed Tag Team match with the person scoring the fall winning the title. Candido and Tammy were then released from WCW.

Sherri Martel. part 8

In the late 1990s, Sherri Martel worked on the independent circuit. Early in 1999, Martel competed in a mixed-tag team match for the AWF World Heavyweight Title (a men's title). Martel teamed with Squeegee Kid against Missy Hyatt and Ms. B Haven. Hyatt scored an upset and pinned Martel to win the title. In the summer of 1999, she appeared on the Heroes of Wrestling pay-per-view managing George Steele against Greg Valentine. Also in 1999, she was awarded the AWA Superstars Women's Championship.

In 2000, Martel made a brief return to WCW to wrestle Madusa and Mona, but turned down a long-term commitment. This was during the promotion's short-lived attempt at recreating a women's division. She was originally contacted to manage the newest incarnation of Harlem Heat, but due to a management transition the plans changed. Since she was already backstage, the promoters had her wrestle Madusa on the January 19, 2000 edition of WCW Thunder. She returned and wrestled Mona on the March 11, 2000 edition of WCW WorldWide. After the match, she and Madusa had a confrontation.

In 2002, she made appearances in Ohio Valley Wrestling (OVW) feuding with Victoria and managing Rob Conway. In 2005, Martel appeared at "Wrestle Reunion" in an 8-woman tag team match (teaming with Peggy Lee Leather, Krissy Vaine, and Amber O'Neal wrestling against Wendi Richter, Bambi, Malia Hosaka, and Jenny Taylor). Martel's team was accompanied by Joyce Grable.

In 2005, she was married, and was on her honeymoon in Japan when WWE contacted her and asked her to take part in a storyline with Kurt Angle shortly before WrestleMania 21.

She made a return to WWE SmackDown! as part of the Shawn Michaels/Kurt Angle feud leading up to WrestleMania 21. There she sang a parody of Michaels' theme song with Angle, but a video showing Shawn's history moved Sherri emotionally. Kurt then saw this and applied the Ankle Lock to her.

She was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame by Ted DiBiase on April 1, 2006. She and the rest of the inductees (excluding Bret Hart) made an appearance at WrestleMania 22 when they were each introduced to the crowd. She was accompanied by DiBiase during her appearance.

Prior to appearing in TNA, Martel turned down an offer from Jeff Jarrett to work a program with Trinity. The reason Martel turned down the offer (as well as the long-term commitment offer to return to WCW in 2000 to feud with Madusa) is because she did not want to put herself in the position to potentially travel back down the dark road that accompanies the physical and emotional stresses of professional wrestling .

On September 4, 2006, she worked for Total Nonstop Action Wrestling, taping a backstage vignette trying to offer her managerial services to "free agent" Bobby Roode that aired on the September 21, 2006 TNA iMPACT!; it was her last television appearance.

On June 15, 2007, WWE.com announced that Martel had died that morning at her mother's residence in Birmingham, Alabama. Dave Meltzer stated on his Wrestling Observer Live radio show that Martel's passing was a result of a possible drug abuse, and that the case was still under investigation by law enforcement. On June 19, 2007, police confirmed that Martel did not die of natural causes, but foul play was not suspected. Based on what was known, Martel had gone to bed at her mother's home (where she was living recently) because she wasn't feeling well. Her husband found her unresponsive later that afternoon. Sherri's sister Vickie claimed Sherri died while drinking coffee with her mother on the front porch of her mother's home. Vickie suspected Sherri was taking some sort of medication/drug for her heart..

A cause of death for Martel was not initially known due to the autopsy and toxicology reports needing 5-6 months to complete, but on September 11 homicide investigators in Tuscaloosa, Alabama released their report stating that she died of an accidental overdose with multiple drugs in her system, including high amounts of oxycodone. The UK's Sun ran a story on the death of Sherri Martel entitled "Hillbilly Heroin killed Sherri." The article notes that the autopsy report on her showed six different drugs in her system at the time of her death. A lethal concentration of the powerful painkiller Oxycodone, also sometimes referred to as "Hillbilly Heroin," was discovered in her system.

Sherri was buried on June 28, 2007.

Sherri Martel, part 5

Martel re-emerged in Smoky Mountain Wrestling later that year and feuded with Tammy Sytch. She also appeared in the independent NWA promotion. On October 22, 1993 at the NWA Weekend of Champions, Martel accompanied Terry Funk against Kevin Sullivan (with Woman). After the match, Martel attacked Woman and put her in a head-scissors. She then appeared at the NWA Bensalem Bash on October 30, 1993. Martel, with Kathy Fitzpatrick in her corner, defeated Jim Cornette (with Tammy Sytch in his corner) in a "loser gets spanked" match.

She soon began working in ECW in autumn of 1993, and soon managed Shane Douglas to the ECW World Championship.

ECW began promoting a feud between Martel and Madusa and scheduled a match between them at November to Remember on November 13, 1993. Madusa had just signed a WWF contract, so Martel faced Malia Hosaka instead. At ECW Ultraclash '93, Martel wrestled in a battle royal against Tigra, Angel, Don E. Allen, Jay "Six Pack" Sulli, Freddie Gilbert, and Hunter Q. Robbins, III.

On January 18, 1994, Martel and Woman appeared in a Carver W. Reed commercial. In February 1994, Martel was going to join WCW to feud with Missy Hyatt, but Hyatt left the company. She later made appearances in WCW aiding Kevin Sullivan and Dave Sullivan in spring 1994. On February 5, 1994 Martel accompanied Shane Douglas for a triple threat match against Sabu and Terry Funk. Paul E. Dangerously (Paul Heyman) attacked Martel before the match, but she recovered and was active throughout the match (which ended in a time limit draw).

Martel made a brief appearance in the Mexican Asistencia Asesoría y Administración (AAA) promotion and accompanied Jake Roberts against Konnan, wrestling some dark matches with Mexican ladies Vicky Carranza, Sexi Boom, and Martha Villalobos. A hair vs. hair match was scheduled at Triplemania 1994 between Martel and Miss Janeth (that should take the side of Konnan) but this match was later rejected.

She returned to ECW to accompany Shane Douglas in matches against Pat Tanaka and Paul Diamond and then officially joined WCW in May 1994. Martel stated in later interviews that she loved her time with the promotion and working with Shane Douglas. She feels ECW was more lenient with what they would let the women do and she liked that.

Then in 2004, she moved to Rotterdam, Netherlands to compete in European wrestling promotions including International Wrestling Stars (Eurostars) and Free-Style Championship Wrestling (FSCW). After defeating The X-Dream to win the FSCW Lightweight Championship in Geant, Belgium the next year, Angel moved back to the United States in May 2005 and returned to MMA competition and training for a pro boxing career.

While she was in New England Championship Wrestling (NECW), Angel and Alere Little Feather defeated Mercedes Martinez and Cindy Rogers on June 4th and, the following night, defeated Luscious Lilly in the opening rounds of the NECW's All-Women's Tournament before being eliminated by Martinez in the second round.

After defeating Luna Vachon at a United States Wrestling Organization (USWO) event on October 14, she began competing for Ohio Valley Wrestling (OVW), a developmental territory for World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE), attempting to gain a contract with the WWE.

Angel continued wrestling for various independent wrestling promotions across the U.S. until she injured both her heels in a ladder match against Sumie Sakai at an event for Dangerous Women of Wrestling on February 2nd, 2006.

After taking 14 months off, Angel returned to active competition one year later teaming up with Amy Lee against Mercedes Martinez and Mickie Knuckles at a Pro Wrestling Unplugged event on February 17th, 2007.

Returning to WEW, she defeated Amber O'Neal and then lost to Talia Madison in a match for the WEW Women's World Championship late during the main event in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on May 5th.

On July 12th, Angel again wrestled two matches in one night, first losing to Jazz in a TLC match (with Francine as special referee) and later defeating Annie Social.

Angel made her debut on Women Superstars Uncensored (WSU) in September and she was introduced by Missy Hyatt who interviewed her on her interview segment "Missy's Manor". During the interview, Angel was confronted by wrestler Rick Cataldo and attacked him when he attepted to interrupt her interview. Moments later, she was challenged by her former tag team partner Amy Lee and agreed to face her the following week.

During that match, only seconds after hitting Angel with a DDT, the arena lights went out and Amy was attacked by a masked wrestler allowing Orsini to pin her for the win. Following the match, the masked wrestler revealed herself to be Mercedez Martinez and she attacked Lee along with Orsini. Following this incident, Angel and Mercedez would feud with Lee and Luna Vachon for the next several weeks.

Nancy Daus (May 21, 1964 - June 25, 2007), part 3

After being dumped by Sandman and Scorpio in ECW, she once again resurfaced in WCW, first appearing on the January 29, 1996 edition of WCW Monday Nitro as one of many women who stood in the aisle and waved as Hulk Hogan and Randy Savage came to the ring. She stayed at ringside, but she soon turned on Savage and rejoined Flair, Arn Anderson, and Chris Benoit in the then-current incarnation of the Four Horsemen. Miss Elizabeth also managed the stable.

In 1996, the Horsemen added Steve McMichael and his wife Debra, which didn't sit well with Woman. In her next angle, the two bickered, not getting along in general. The Four Horsemen were often given interview time on Nitro and when it came time for Debra to speak on the mic, she'd often go into a soliloquy regarding Woman's looks and fashion sense--usually when the two weren't within the vicinity of each other. Despite the heavy tension, the two managers never had a physical altercation.

At the same time, she started an on-screen relationship with Benoit, rubbing it in Sullivan's face, her real-life husband at the time. On December 7, on WCW Saturday Night, while announcer Tony Schiavone was conducting a post-match interview with Sullivan, he played a home movie of the couple in front of him. They were shown canoodling in a kitchen. Woman taunted Sullivan by saying, "You can't find me" and "I'm my own woman." Benoit taunted Sullivan as well by saying, "You consider yourself the master of human chess. Well, my bishop just took your queen." After the video, Sullivan stood there speechless, and his manager Jimmy Hart led him off stage. As fate would have it, this on-screen relationship developed into a real-life affair off-screen This resulted in a feud between Benoit and Sullivan that saw Woman clashing with Sullivan's then-valet Jacquelyn at ringside. In one match, the two ladies were strapped together, took shots at each other, and used the strap connecting them as a weapon against the men.

Nancy's final WCW appearance (and professional wrestling appearance as the character 'Woman') took place on May 26, 1997 on WCW Monday Nitro as she accompanied Benoit to the ring for a confrontation with Jimmy Hart regarding the whereabouts of Sullivan, who wasn't in the arena. On the following week's show, Benoit came alone to ringside without her by his side. After managing him for a little over half a year, no reason was given for Woman's sudden disappearance, and she was never mentioned on WCW programming again.

Sullivan and Nancy (off-screen) divorced in 1997, and (on-screen) Sullivan lost a retirement match to Benoit It is often joked that 'Kevin Sullivan booked his own divorce'. Sullivan's intent was to retire from in-ring action and focus on booking. As a booker, Sullivan caused Nancy to (off-screen) quit wrestling when she refused to be topless in an angle Sullivan created for a PPV.

Before her marriage to Kevin Sullivan in 1985, Nancy had previously been married to and divorced from Jim Daus.

Nancy and Benoit became engaged in 1997 after her divorce from Sullivan that same year, although Benoit only referred to Nancy as his fiancée even after they were married. Although her days as an on-air performer were over, she did actively manage her husband's career from their home in Atlanta.

She gave birth to her son Daniel Christopher Benoit on February 23, 2000. Two days later, Daus married Chris Benoit on February 25, 2000. However, in 2003, she filed for divorce, citing the marriage as "irrevocably broken" and alleging "cruel treatment."She later dropped the suit, as well as a restraining order filed on her husband

On June 25, 2007, Nancy and her son Daniel were found dead by police in the family's Fayetteville, Georgia home, victims of an apparent double murder-suicide perpetrated by her husband, Chris Benoit.

Nancy Daus (May 21, 1964 - June 25, 2007), part 2

George Napolitano needed a beautiful young girl for the cover of the June 1984 edition of the pro-wrestling magazine Wrestling All Stars and fellow photographer Bill Otten suggested the young Nancy Daus for the role. Nancy, who had worked as a model, often sat alongside her then-husband Jim to watch matches and was no newcomer to being involved with professional wrestling. Nancy, who had been selling programs at the Orlando shows, also appeared as "Para" in the old "Apartment Wrestling" in wrestling magazines features. It was on this shoot where she met Kevin Sullivan who became enamored with her. Sullivan eventually wanted her to be a part of his wrestling entourage, and after months of convincing, Nancy finally became an on-air valet, taking the name Fallen Angel. She made her in-ring debut on July 7, 1984 at the Lakeland Civic Center in Lakeland, Florida for Florida Championship Wrestling.

Nancy then became a part of Kevin Sullivan's stable of "Satanists", which also included wrestlers Luna Vachon, The Purple Haze, and Sir Oliver Humperdink. Nancy and Kevin Sullivan traveled throughout the United States using the "Satanist" gimmick for promotions such as Angelo Savoldi's ICW and Southwest Championship Wrestling. The two married in 1985.

In 1989, Nancy appeared in the NWA as Robin Green, Rick Steiner's biggest fan who sat at ringside cheering him on during matches. Eventually she talked Rick into letting her actually stand at ringside with Missy Hyatt during a tag-team match with brother Scott against the Fabulous Freebirds, Michael Hayes and Jimmy Garvin. Nancy caused the Steiners to lose the match and soon left Rick to manage the masked team of Doom (Ron Simmons and Butch Reed). During this time she also changed her name to Woman. The Steiner Brothers and Doom went on to feud, with the Steiners still seeking revenge on Woman. In response, she acquired a bodyguard known as Nitron ( Tyler Mane) to protect her from them.

In 1990, Ric Flair and his Four Horsemen soon caught her wandering eye and she dumped Nitron and Doom to manage Flair. She fit in well with the "dirtiest player in the game", interfering in his matches and helping him keep his NWA World Title. She left the NWA by after the Capitol Combat '90 pay-per-view however.

She rejoined her husband Kevin in smaller promotions, mainly running out of the Northeast.

In 1993, Kevin and Nancy surfaced in the fledgling ECW, where - once again called simply Woman - she managed Sullivan and The Tazmaniac to the ECW Tag Team Championships. When Kevin resought the greener pastures of WCW, Nancy remained in ECW, going on to manage Sandman and 2 Cold Scorpio. She captivated the crowd as, once again, she almost seamlessly reinvented herself to fit with The Sandman's gimmick - opening his beers, lighting his cigarettes, and destroying his opponents with her own kendo stick.

All of my U.S. women's wrestling blogs are going to be this one updated entry I made back in February.
I guess it's a way of expressing sadness at a life cut short.
I can't even begin to express the shock I felt hearing the news. It reminds me of the when Eddie Guerrero passed away.
Sherri Martel last week and now this.
I hope it doesn't come in threes.

Stephanie did not want to wrestle again, so they replaced her in future matches with Madusa. They claimed that she was injured from the match, so she used crutches to get around. She soon used those crutches on "Rowdy" Roddy Piper and turned heel.

After leaving WCW, she went to a WWF event with her friend, Molly Holly. Stephanie was asked to appear on WWF TV and to confront Chyna. She told them no as she felt that she was not ready for the WWF yet.

In 2000, Stephanie returned briefly to ECW as George because Savage had Gorgeous George trademarked and would not let her use the name. She was Tommy Dreamer's valet for his match at Heatwave 2000 and turned on him, siding with Justin Credible.Stephanie was also in a brief feud with Francine.

In 2001, she appeared for GLOOW as a referee and also married Misfits punkrocker, Doyle Wolfgang Von Frankenstein on September 1st. Stephanie officially changed her name to George Frankenstein.

In mid-2001, she became a member of the X-Girls in the XWF with Kristina Laum and Chiquita Anderson. They were similar to the Nitro Girls from WCW. They came out and danced to entertain the fans during commercials. In early 2002, George left the XWF or was fired for missing shows, depending on who tells the story. The XWF folded shortly after that.

She has since appeared on the independent circuit for 3PW and WEW. In 2004, she had a few brief appearances in Total Nonstop Action Wrestling as Minsa. She came out to watch Jeff Jarrett in action. George disappeared from TNA after that.

Francine Fournier - ECW-WWE

Francine Fournier was born on February 19th, 1972 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
She is better known as Francine, a former American professional wrestling valet, known for her work for the wrestling promotion, Extreme Championship Wrestling (ECW).
Francine worked for a life insurance company before deciding to become a professional wrestling valet.

Francine Fournier - ECW-WWE
She was hired by ECW in December 1993, and trained with J.T. Smith at the ECW House of Hardcore training school, of which she was the first graduate. In the summer of 1995 she debuted in ECW as a devoted fan of Stevie Richards, and she later became his onscreen girlfriend and manager. On August 26 Richards turned on her, interfering in a catfight between Francine and Beulah McGillicutty. Richards' interference allowed Beulah to pin Francine for the victory, and Francine lost her wrestler to Beulah and Raven. She gained a measure of revenge by leading The Pitbulls to a victory over Richards and Raven for the ECW Tag Team Championships on September 16th, 1995.

Francine Fournier - ECW-WWE

On July 13, 1996 at Heatwave, Francine turned on The Pitbulls and became the manager of Shane Douglas, who she twice helped become ECW World Heavyweight Champion. During this time, she could also occasionally be found at ringside in support of Douglas' Triple Threat teammates Chris Candido and Bam Bam Bigelow. She remained at the side of Douglas until he left ECW to return to World Championship Wrestling, at which point she became the manager of Tommy Dreamer, whom she had been dating off screen for at least a year previous; Francine did not publicly reveal her relationship with Dreamer until after she began working with him. In 2000 she left Dreamer (as part of the then-current storyline; their offstage relationship continued unabated) and managed Raven, then Justin Credible until ECW declared bankruptcy in March 2001.

Wrestler: Shelly Martinez/Desire/Shelly/Halloween Barbie/Cle-Ho-Patra/Ariel

Before she was Ariel on ECW, Shelly Martinez wrestled.
Yes wrestled, she didnt hang upside down on ropes and hiss, she got in the ring.

Martinez was trained and first wrestled in Southern California, appearing in several independent promotions; most notably Ultimate Pro Wrestling, Revolution Pro Wrestling, and Empire Wrestling Federation where she worked as the (kayfabe) sister of Melina Perez.

In April of 2005, Shelly Martinez signed a developmental contract with the World Wrestling Entertainment and began working in OVW.

With the launch of the new ECW weekly on Sci Fi (June 20, 2006 ) , Shelly Martinez debuted in a big way, she starting the show as a tarot card reader in a backstage segment. She carried the alias "Ariel." As weeks past, backstage segments continued, she was joined by Kevin Thorn, in which they both took on vampire roles and accompanied him in his matches.

Ariel had a short lived feud against Francine which climaxed on September 26th 2006 on Sci Fi as Ariel and Francine fought to a No Contest Catfight. Francine was released, and the next ECW vixen she got into altercations with was Kelly Kelly, in which the two had catfights and diva contests.

During this time, Ariel continued to work OVW shows, including matches against Beth Phoenix and ODB. Where she actually wrestled.

Now Shelly is basically eye candy.
Dont get me wrong, shes GREAT eye candy, but Vince, the woman CAN wrestle. She was trained at UPW, like John Cena, Chris Masters, Victoria, Jon Heidenreich, Mike "The Miz" Mizanin, Melina, Ryan Sakoda,Christopher Daniels and Samoa Joe!

Dawn Marie - Women of Wrestling

Dawn Marie-WWE

Dawn Marie Psaltis was born on November 3rd, 1970 in Rahway, New Jersey.

She is a pro wrestler and wrestling valet, better known by her ring name, Dawn Marie. She is probably best known for her appearances with Extreme Championship Wrestling (ECW) and the SmackDown! brand of World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) during which she was known as one of the WWE Divas.

As a little girl, Dawn Marie was a fan of the World Wrestling Federation (WWF), admiring wrestlers such wrestling stars as Bob Backlund, Jimmy Snuka and Roddy Piper. She graduated from the New York University Stern School of Business at the age of 23 and went on to work for a real estate consultancy firm in Manhattan, New York, reaching the position of Director of International Real Estate.

After meeting up with an ex-boyfriend who had aspired to play football professionally and finding out that he had been signed by the Chicago Bears, Dawn Marie decided that she would pursue a career in entertainment. She resigned from the firm and moved into the entertainment industry with the goal of becoming either a model or an actress.

While working for Jonathan Gold, a talent agent and professional wrestling promoter, Dawn told Gold that she would be interested in pursuing a career in wrestling.
Gold took her comment to heart and later contacted Dawn Marie, informing her that she was scheduled to appear at a wrestling show in New Jersey. Dawn Marie went to the show and managed Tony Atlas in his match against Jimmy "Super Fly" Snuka. After the event, Dawn Marie stopped modeling and began appearing on the independent wrestling circuit, managing and learning from wrestlers such as Devon Storm, Buddy Landell, Snuka, Tom Brandi and Steve Corino.
She made her in-ring debut in January of 1995.

Dawn Marie spent four years working on the northeastern independent circuit, appearing with promotions such as Maryland Championship Wrestling and the Mid-Eastern Wrestling Federation. In 1999, she was told by Jeff Jones that Extreme Championship Wrestling (ECW) employee Buh Buh Ray Dudley was interested in bringing her into the company. At the behest of Dudley, Dawn Marie travelled to the ECW Arena in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where ECW promoter Paul Heyman told her that he would book her for several appearances in a storyline with Lance Storm. Dawn Marie debuted in ECW on August 28, 1998 as the manager of Lance Storm, feuding with Chris Candido and his manager, Tammy Lynn Sytch. Heyman was impressed by the chemistry between Dawn Marie and Storm, and offered Dawn Marie a contract, which she accepted.

Dawn Marie - Women of Wrestling

Storm and Dawn Marie feuded with Candido and Sytch for several months, during which time Dawn Marie was renamed Tammy Lynn Bytch to spite Candido and his manager. She used a similar tactic during a feud between Storm and Tommy Dreamer in early 1999, After the respective feuds ended, Dawn Marie used the ring name Dawn Marie Bytch, which was eventually shortened to simply Dawn Marie. After Storm formed a tag team with Justin Credible known as the Impact Players in the summer of 1999, Dawn Marie managed both men, helping them win the ECW Tag Team Championship on two occasions. Dawn Marie continued to manage Storm until he left ECW for World Championship Wrestling (WCW) in May 2000. Dawn Marie was also offered a contract by WCW, but declined to leave ECW in order to remain with her fiancé, ECW wrestler Simon Diamond.

Allison Danger - Female Wrestling

Cathy Allison Corino (born March 31st, 1977 in Winnipeg, Manitoba) is a Canadian professional wrestler and professional wrestling manager, better known by her ring name, Allison Danger.

While in high school, Cathy Corino was a cheerleader and took part in field hockey, softball and track running. After graduating from high school, she played ice hockey for two years.

Corino's older brother Steve is a wrestler, and while working for Extreme Championship Wrestling (ECW) he introduced his sister to the ECW locker room. Corino befriended Francine, a manager for ECW, and in May 2000 Francine and Corino attended an IWA Reading wrestling show in Reading, Pennsylvania together. ECW alumnus The Sandman's wife Lori (his usual manager) was unavailable, so The Sandman invited Corino to substitute for her. Corino accepted at the urging of Francine, and enjoyed the experience, so much so that she worked for the same company again several weeks later. The next month, she joined the Independent Wrestling Federation and began training under Rapid Fire Maldonado and her brother in the IWA Cruel School in Boyertown, Pennsylvania.

Corino adopted the personna of Allison Danger, a tattooed punk. Her first match was a mixed tag match with Rapid Fire as her partner in Reading. Corino and Maldonado continued to team together, and on March 24, 2001 in Plainfield, New Jersey they won the IWF Tag Team Championships in a four way tag match. After Maldonado suffered an injury, Biggie Biggs replaced him as Corino's partner. They lost the titles to Hadrian and Damian Adams on September 16, 2001 in West Orange, New Jersey.

Throughout 2003 Corino worked for Jersey All Pro Wrestling and IWA Mid South. Between July and August 2003 she toured Japan, replacing her friend Lucy Furr.

Corino joined Ring of Honor (ROH) as the manager of the Christopher Street Connection, a gay tag team. After the Connection left ROH, Corino became the manager of The Prophecy, a heel stable led by Christopher Daniels who opposed the "code of honor" (etiquette and mutual respect) within ROH.

Allison Danger - Womens Wrestling

On June 12, 2004, Prophecy members Dan Maff and B.J. Whitmer turned face, abandoning the Prophecy name and firing Corino as their manager. Corino began feuding with Maff and Whitmer, and placed a bounty on their heads on June 24. Throughout the remainder of 2004 she hampered every action of her former clients, repeatedly costing them matches, and using her control of their contracts to book them in physically taxing matches. However, despite Corino's efforts, Maff and Whitmer defeated the Havana Pitbulls for the ROH Tag Team Championship on February 19, 2005. Corino then briefly feuded with Daizee Haze before leaving ROH.

Corino returned to ROH at Death before Dishonor III on June 18, 2005 and alluded to the return of Christopher Daniels to the promotion (Daniels was pulled from all ROH show by Total Nonstop Action Wrestling in 2004 as a result of the Rob Feinstein controversy). She reformed her alliance with Daniels after he returned later that night.
