Scarlett Bordeaux - Female Wrestling

This five foot seven 129 pound beauty is female wrestler Scarlett Bordeaux.
Scarlett works for Ohio Valley Wrestling (OVW), which is now a Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA) developmental territory.

OVW has had a long and historic past, first being a member of the NWA, then a developmental territory for WWF/WWE and now TNA.
No one seems to know a lot about Scarlett, though fellow redhead Taeler Hendrix referred to her as her "cousin" on her Facebook page once.

Scarlett did beat Taeler in a match in OVW that you can see an almost play by play of by Wrestlin Wally at his site here:

Hopefully one day soon we will see Scarlett on Impact Wrestling, maybe as a tag team partner of Taeler.
A gorgeous red haired tag team.
Yes please.

Former TNA Knockouts Angelina Love and Velvet Sky

Why are former TNA Knockouts Angelina Love and Velvet Sky on this blog that is basically devoted to Old School wrestlers and Indy wrestlers?
Well until they sign with someone (probably the WWE) they are free agents.
Of course it wouldn't hurt me a bit to see them in the WWE as The Beautiful People again...well it would hurt me because I know the WWE would somehow take a sure thing like that and screw it up.

TNA Knockouts Angelina Love and Velvet Sky

According to NorthEast Wrestling, Velvet and Angelina will be appearing at their "Wrestling Under The Stars" event on September 22nd, 2012.
You can find out more and get tickets here:
http://northeastwrestling.com/

And http://www.twnpnews.com/ is reporting that both Velvet and Angelina will be at Sideline Sports at the Middletown Market 128 Dolson Ave. Middletown, New York on October 7th from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m.

So I am happy they are appearing together and showing up at Indy pro wrestling promotions.

Christina Von Eerie - Female Wrestling

I did a write up over at my Luchadora blog on Christina Von Eerie in March of last year, but I've never done anything with her here.
So let's go...
Christina Von Eerie was born Christina Maria Kardooni on August 28th, 1989 in Sacramento, California.
She started her wrestlling training in her hometown at the Supreme Pro Wrestling Training Academy and was trained by Bao Nguyen, The Big Ugly, Danny Secretion and Sir Samurai.
Christina made her pro wrestling debut in 2006 and went to work for wrestling promotions like Pro Wrestling Revolution (PWR), Insane Wrestling League (IWL), Xtreme Pro Wrestling (XPW) and Alternative Wrestling Show (AWS) and Pro Wrestling Guerrilla.

Christina Von Eerie - Female Wrestling

Christina moved down to Mexico and started working for the Mexican wrestling promotion, Asistencia Asesoría y Administración (AAA), as part of the La Legión Extranjera (the Foreign Legion) headed up by Konnan.
Her debut match was on March 12th, 2010 at the Rey de Reyes show in Queretaro when she and Sexi Star and Rain took on Faby Apache, Mary Apache and Cinthia Moreno in a losing effort.

After spending most of 2010 in Mexico, Christina came back to the States and made a one time appearance for the Dragon Gate USA promotion.
She then got a tryout match with TNA wrestling, that had her team up with Shannon Moore in a dark match and defeat Cookie and Okada.

On August 25th, 2010, Christina was part of the first NWA Championship Wrestling from Hollywood tapings, defeating Lizzy Valentine.

In March of 2011 she appeared at the March 26 and 27 tapings for Shimmer Women Athletes.

So far in her career she has held the Alternative Wrestling Show (AWS) Women's Championship title (twice), the North American Wrestling (NAW) Dojo Title and the Asistencia Asesoría y Administración (AAA) World Mixed Tag Team Championship (with Alex Koslov who is now Peter Orlov in Florida Championship Wrestling).

Leva Bates - Women of Wrestling

Leva Bates - Women of Wrestling

Leva Bates is so cool.
I have seen pictures of her at comic book conventions, dressed up as superheroes and anime charcters.
She's like a female Indy wrestler version of the Hurricane, only better.
Leva is five foot two, 120 pounds and she's from Gotham City (?) Florida.
(Really she's from Madisonville, Kentucky)
She was trained by Team 3D Academy and made her pro wrestling debut in March 0f 2007 and has worked for a ton of wrestling promotions like SHIMMER, Full Impact Pro, Coastal Championship Wrestling, Pro Wrestling Fusion and World Xtreme Wrestling.
Though she was never on the TNA roster, she did show up on TNA during Awesome Kong’s $25,000 Challenge.

And here's the video from March 29th, 2008 of Leva taking on Kong...

Cookie - Becky Bayless - TNA

female wrestling-womens wrestling

One of the most unfortunate things TNA has done recently is the Robbie E and Cookie thing.
Now I love Becky Bayless, and I am sure Rob Eckos is a fine wrestler, but why did TNA have to bring them in and turn them into "Jersey Shore" clones?
Really, this goes back to the old WWF, and not the cool fun part either.
I suppose this is TNA's way of trying to pull in the MTV fan base.
I'm guessing next will be a Sheldon and Leonard tag team ripping off Big Bang Theory (hey...it's popular!) and maybe a vampire/werewolf tag team to get the Twilight fan base.

The sad thing is that like I mentioned earlier, I really like Becky.
Most people think of her as a valet/announcer/interviewer, but she has gotten in quite a bit of ring time.
Back in 2008, Pro Wrestling Illustrated (PWI) ranked Becky as number 37 in the best 50 female singles wrestlers and she once held the Texas Wrestling Entertainment (TWE) Texas Ladies Championship.
She has worked (as a wrestler) for wrestling promotions Ring of Honor (ROH), Wrestling Superstars Unleashed (WSU), Women Superstars Uncensored and on Wrestlicious (as Brooke Lynn) she took part in the "Hoedown Throwdown" (sigh) twenty girl battle royal.

I don't see why TNA didn't just get Becky some wrestling gear and put her in the ring as a Knockout and not have to resort to this MTV ripoff stuff.
MTV and wrestling doesn't mix.
Remember Wrestling Society X?

One of the more embarrassing moments as JWoww From Jersey Shore faces off with Cookie on TNA iMPACT....

Even though I don't like Cookie, I still love me some Becky, and you can see her live on Saturday, December 18th at CWF Mid-Atlantic’s anniversary event “Battlecade XI”.
ArenaChicks will have her there for a special autograph andphotograph session.

Becky Bayless, Christina Von Erie and Katie Lea at TNA

female wrestling-womens wrestling

A couple of Indy wrestlers have gotten try-outs at TNA lately.
As I mentioned last time, Becky Bayless and Rob Eckos are supposed to be doing a parody of "Jersey Shore" stars Snooki and The Situation, and Becky was teamed with Kazuchika Okada in a Dark Match.
Well it seems the try-out dark match didn't go too well.
Becky and Okada took on Shannon Moore and Christina Von Erie in a mixed tag-team match that was called by some "the worst dark match in history."

Lucha Libre fans may have seen Christina working for the Asistencia Asesoría y Administración (AAA) wrestling promotion in Mexico.

In other good news, Katie Lea had a tryout with TNA as well.
If you have read this blog for long, you know I had my eye on Katie way back in July of 2007 when she just got to the States.
Kat had a tryout match with former Knockouts Champion, Madison Rayne using the name Katie Larue.
By all accounts that match went very well.

Becky Bayless to TNA

Well as pretty much everybody and their brother are reporting, TNA has signed Becky Bayless to a contract.
She had a try-out match last week, and now the number two wrestling promotion has signed both Becky and Rob Eckos as a parody of "Jersey Shore" stars Snooki and The Situation.
Becky's ring name is rumored to be "Cookie"...like "Snooki"....get it?
Although Becky is way better looking than her MTV counterpart.

Becky (whose real name is Rebecca Treston) was born on February 3rd, 1982, and made her wrestling debut in 2002.
She was trained by Ring of Honor (ROH) and TNA star Homicide.

Becky has worked for wrestling promotions like Ring of Honor, Wrestlicious, Women's Extreme Wrestling, Full Impact Pro and Shimmer Women Athletes.

Mia Yim Updates

mia yim-female wrestling-women pro wrestling pictures

Things have been happening quite fast for the lovely Mia Yim since I did my last write up on her.

She took on former WWE diva Mickie James in a match at Maryland Championship Wrestling, and had a try-out match (with Taylor Wilde) for TNA wrestling.
Unfortunately Mia didn't get picked up by TNA.
Their loss.
I think Mia would have made a great addition to a struggling TNA roster.
You know, the only spark of life the Knockouts division had was when they started hiring Indy female wrestlers.

But don't fret for Mia.
She'll be staying plenty busy working for wrestling promotions like ROH (Ring of Honor), CZW (Combat Zone Wrestling) and more.

As I mentioned last time, you can keep up with Mia here...

Cherry Bomb and Jennifer Blake to the WWE?

Laura Dennis - Cherry Bomb - WWEThere was a rumor going around last week that both Laura Dennis (Cherry Bomb) and Jennifer Blake (Girl Dynamite / Autumn Frost in Wrestlicious) were signed by the WWE.

It looks like Cherry Bomb really was, but according to Jennifer Blake's Facebook page, she hasn't been signed by the WWE.

"Jennifer Blake, Girl Dynamite / Autumn Frost I am not signed by WWE. Just a rumor folks!"

Of course I think signing any Indy talent is a good idea for the WWE.
With TNA's Knockout division looking shakier every week, now is the time to strike.
Provided the WWE actually uses the new talent and not just have them valet.

Cherry Bomb was born in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, got her wrestling training at Rob Fuego's Squared Circle Training, in Toronto, and made her pro wrestling debut in May of 2005.
She has worked for a lot of wrestling promotions like Pure Wrestling Association, Pro Wrestling Xtreme, New Vision Pro Wrestling, Great Canadian Wrestling, Motor City Wrestling, ALF and SHIMMER

Here, courtesy of GogoMvZ, is Cherry's first appearance on Monday Night Raw....with Goldust!

MsChif - Womens Pro Wrestling

I've never made any secret of how awesome I think MsChif is.
She has that certain something that female wrestlers need to make it big.
I kinda wonder why she has never made the jump to WWE or TNA, but I am kinda glad she hasn't.

MsChif - Womens Pro Wrestling

I didn't see MsChif's name on the G.L.O.R.Y. Hot 100 which kinda dissapointed me (actually, I didn't see her on GLORY at all), but she did come in fourth on the PWI Female 50 for 2009, so that made me feel better.
Hey, MsChif started 2009 as the NWA World Women's champion, the SHIMMER champion, AND the NWA Midwest Women's champion... she deserves to be at LEAST fourth.

MsChif has her own website: http://www.mschif.net/ and her fan page at MySpace http://www.myspace.com/mschifonline where you can keep up with her appearances.

Of course my "dream team" is Daffney and MsChif.
Could you imgaine the two of them tag teaming in TNA to go after the TNA Knockouts title held by Sarita and Taylor Wilde?
And if you wanna make me really happy, how about Daffney, MsChif and a "psycho" Tara teaming up.
Kinda like an "Anti-Beautiful People".

Shimmer Women Athletes

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us
The awesome Rain

I talk a lot about Shimmer here, but I have never really taken the time to highlight just what it is.
Shimmer is called Shimmer Women Athletes or SHIMMER Women Athletes or just plain SHIMMER.
It is a Chicago based female independent pro wrestling promotion created by Dave Prazak and run by him and Allison Danger.
Shimmer held it's first event on November 6, 2005.
SHIMMER is closely affiliated with ROH (Ring of Honor) and is the home of probably the best female wrestling you will see.

And the list of SHIMMER wrestlers from the past and present is long and stellar.
Just a few of the female wrestlers that have worked for the company are Rain, Ariel, Jetta, Cat Power, Nevaeh, Daffney, Lorelei Lee, Cheerleader Melissa and Jennifer Blake.

Of course many SHIMMER stars ( like Amazing Kong (Awesome Kong), Cheerleader Melissa (Raisha Saeed) , Daffney, Nikki Roxx (Roxxi) and for a short time, Rain, as Payton Banks ) have gone onto work for TNA.

And Beth Phoenix and Nattie Neidhart (Natalya) also worked for Shimmer at one time.
.
I really cant say enough about this organization, so the best thing to do is check out their website here:
http://www.visuex.com/shimmer/index.php

Or you can go to their MySpace page here:

Wrestlin Wally's Wide World of Women's Wrestling

Okay, Now I'm gonna take a minute off doing entries on female wrestlers and do something I rarely do.
Gush about another site.
I have run into Wrestlin Wally's work now and then on the web, and I was delighted to see that he has his own wrestling website.
Its called Wrestlin Wally's Wide World of Women's Wrestling.
If you like really good, close up candid shots of the ladies of Indy wrestling, you really need to check him out.
We're not talking long distance fuzzy pics you can barely make out here.
This is really good, great even, close up pics and action shots.
Wally really needs to think about a "coffee table book" kinda like what Theo Ehret did.
Wally's work is not only good, but it captures the look and feel of these beautiful ladies plying their trade.
And no Wally's not paying me to write this...LOL.
But if you wanna read up to date info and see the latest pics of these beautiful ladies of wrestling, head over to his site.
And just think how much better the WWE Diva's section or TNA's Knockouts would look with Wally doing the pics.
So head on over to http://www.wrestlinwally.com/ and look around.
You won't be disappointed.

MsChif Updates

    http://sports.groups.yahoo.com/group/shimmerwrestling/

Another female wrestler I haven't updated in awhile....
MsChif.
I like MsChif, I always have and I always will.
"Your Soul's Tormentor" has wrestled for several promotions including the National Wrestling Alliance (NWA), Shimmer Women Athletes, Gateway Championship Wrestling (GCW), All Pro Wrestling (APW), Coastal Wrestling Alliance (CWA), Ring of Honor (ROH), IWA Mid South and even NWA: Total Nonstop Action (NWA:TNA).

As far as belts go, she has held the Coastal Wrestling Association Tag Team Championship with Cindy Rogers, the GCW Light Heavyweight Championship, the NWA World Women's Championship twice, the NWA Midwest Women's Championship twice, the NWA Midwest/IWA Mid-South Women's Championship, the Shimmer Championship and she was the winner of
ChickFight IV.

Now that Daffney is in TNA, nothing would make me happier than to see her drop the "Governor" gimmick, go back to crazy Daffney and bring MsChif in to be her partner.
TNA wouldnt know what hit them.

You can visit MsChif's website here:

And you can see more of her at Shimmer's website here:

Jamie Szantyr - Velvet Sky - Talia Madison - Part 2

In 2007 when Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA) announced the creation of their women's division, Jamie (as Talia Madison) was announced as one of the ten wrestlers in the Gauntlet match to determine the first TNA Women's World Champion at the Bound for Glory pay-per-view.
After the Gauntlet match, her name was changed to Velvet Sky.

At the Turning Point pay-per-view in December, Velvet was paired with Angelina Love to form "Velvet Love Entertainment".
At first the two were "faces" taking on O.D.B. and Roxxi Laveaux, and helping Gail Kim in her match against Awesome Kong.
But later they became vain and narcissistic prima donnas and took on the name "The Beautiful People" becoming consummate heels.

Female Wrestling - Jamie Szantyr aka Talia Madison aka Velvet Sky

Jamie Szantyr was born born June 2nd, 1981, in New Britain, Connecticut.

She was booked to her first wrestling championship during her time in World Xtreme Wrestling, getting the WXW Women's Championship after winning a battle royal on May 29, 2004.

She made a few appearances in the WWE in 2005 and 2006.On the February 24, 2005 edition of WWE SmackDown!, she appeared as an extra during the JBL "Celebration of Excellence" party. On January 2, 2006, she and Trinity were planted in the front row of the audience to be selected to dance with The Heart Throbs after their match in another HEAT segment. She also auditioned for the 2007 Diva Search, but did not make the final eight. Szantyr later admitted that WWE wanted her to physically enhance her body, which was the reason she chose to go to TNA.

As Talia Madison, she held Defiant Pro Wrestling Women's title, which she got on April 8, 2006 after defeating Alere Little Feather and Nikki Roxx in a three-way match. She also wrestled in Women's Extreme Wrestling as Talia Doll, where she and April Hunter held the WEW Tag Team titles. Born in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, Orsini became involved in bodybuilding and strength training in 1991 and, the following year, began studying Tae Kwon Do and Hopkido.

During 1993, she competed as a heavyweight in the North Miami Beach Bodybuilding Championship and the South Florida Bodybuilding Championships winning second place in both competitions.

After three years of training, Orsini became a Black Belt and entered an instructor training program eventually teaching Tae Kwon Do. That same year, she began training with Bart Vale in freefighting and mixed martial arts.

She began fighting professionally in 1996, winning the Florida State Continuous Fighting Championship before travelling to Japan to make her MMA debut against Yokimiko Hotta in March 1996.

While in Japan, Orsini was persuaded by female wrestler Reggie Bennett to enter professional wrestling after watching Japanese female wrestling. Returning to the United States, she began training under Liz Chase in Royal Palm Beach, Florida and made her debut five months later facing Joanni Lee Lauer at the Iron Horse Saloon in Ormond Beach, Florida in October 1996.

She soon began wrestling for the Fabulous Moolah's Ladies International Wrestling Federation and eventually won several championship titles including the Sunshine Wrestling Federation Women's Championship defeating Luna Vachon in 1997 and defeated her trainer Liz Chase for the Florida Championship Wrestling and Ultimate Wrestling Federation titles during the next two years.
In 1999, she became less active on the independent circuit fighting a mixed martial arts match for the hybrid-MMA promotion Pancrase at the Bronco Bowl in Dallas, Texas and again competing in the South Florida Bodybuilding Championships receiving second place. She also appeared twice on The Jenny Jones Show on a segment about women who intimidate men regarding their occupation and, the following year, on women in abusive relationships.

Orsini began wrestling in international promotions during the next year, touring Peru with Lita and participated in the Trans-Atlantic Challenge while in Great Britain.

Orsini, who had previously sent a video tape her wrestling matches to ECW, was hired by promoter Paul Heyman and began appearing as The Prodigette managing the stable Sideshow Freaks which included Simon Diamond, Johnny Swinger, The Muskateer, Tom Marquez and Bilvis Wesley.

Feuding with Jazz, she also contronted male wrestlers including Jerry Lynn who put her in a piledriver at her last appearance at the ECW Arena. Staying with the promotion until its close in 2001, she was forced to miss the last house show after being severely injured in a car accident.

Although doctors had told Orsini that she had suffered a career ending injury, she successfully returned to wrestling within six months and later won the PGWA Championship from Susan Green, she dedicated her victory to the memory of her trainer Liz Chase who passed away earlier that year.
