Jazz - WWE/ECW

Jazz - WWE/ECW

Wrestler Name(s): Jazz, Jazzmine
Real Name: Carlene Moore Begnaud
Height: 5 ft 4 in
Weight: 140 lb
Born: August 27th, 1973, New Orleans, Louisiana
Resides Lafayette, Louisiana
Trained by:  Rod Price, Sylvester Ritter
Pro Wrestling Debut: 1998

Carlene Moore Begnaud, is better known as Jazz.
She was born August 27th, 1973 in New Orleans, Louisiana and is a pro wrestler who has previously worked for the original ECW and WWE's RAW and ECW brands.

Carlene was attending college on a basketball scholarship when she dropped out to get a job and earn money. She was approached about training to become a wrestler and went to a wrestling school in Louisiana run by Rod Price and had her first wrestling match against Jacqueline. Moore was just six-months into her training with Rod Price when she got a job with Extreme Championship Wrestling (ECW).

Having worked a number of house shows as try-outs during 2001, in September of that year Moore, now wrestling as Jazz, signed a two-year contract with the World Wrestling Federation. She made her formal debut in the company at the Survivor Series pay per view in a Six-Pack Challenge Match for the WWF Women's Wrestling Championship which had been vacated by Chyna after her departure from the company. Ultimately, Trish Stratus came away with the victory and the championship that night but, several week later Jazz brutally attacked Stratus and Mighty Molly during a title defense. This led to a vicious feud between Stratus and Jazz which led to Jazz defeating Stratus on a February 2002 edition of RAW to win her first Women's Wrestling Championship.

The feud went on for several months with Jazz making successful title defenses against Stratus, Lita and Ivory. However due to injury, Jazz dropped the title back to Stratus in a Hardcore-Rules match on a May 2002 edition of RAW, which also involved Bubba Ray Dudley and Steven Richards.

In early 2003, Jazz returned to the ring and involved herself in the feud between Trish and Victoria. During this time, she took on Teddy Long as a manager, which led to another WWE Women's Championship reign after defeating Trish at WWE Backlash. She kept the title for several months but once more was forced to drop the title due to injury, losing it in a battle royal to Gail Kim in June 2003.

She returned from injury in early 2004 but for the most part, she mostly wrestled on Sunday Night HEAT and did not take part in any major feuds. Later that year, she became manager and valet for her real-life husband Rodney Mack before being released by the WWE on November 4, 2004.

On January 16, 2005 she started working on the independent wrestling circuit, and appeared at the unofficial ECW reunion show, Hardcore Homecoming. In 2005, Jazz and Rodney Mack opened Dirtysouth Championship Wrestling, an independent promotion based in Louisiana where Jazz won the new DCW Louisiana State Title on June 3, 2006.

Jazz also went on to perform in Women's Extreme Wrestling, where she won the company's World Heavyweight Championship in May 2005 in a Fatal Four M'enage Quatro Match against Angel Orsini, Mercedes Martinez, and Simply Luscious when the previous champion, Tai "Killer Weed", was forced to relinquish the title due to an injury. While she was still the WEW champion, on June 24, 2005, Jazz would defeat April Hunter to win NWA Cyberspace's Women's championship.

Jazz - WWE/ECW

On May 4, 2006, it was confirmed on WWE's official website that Jazz would be a part of the new ECW brand. Jazz would make her first appearance as part of the new ECW during the WWE vs. ECW Head to Head show on June 7, 2006 where she would face the WWE Women's Champion Mickie James in a losing effort. However, Jazz would not continue an on-screen role in the brand and only made a few appearances at ECW house shows before returning to Dirtysouth Championship Wrestling in September. Though in DCW, she stayed under contract with WWE until January 18, 2007 when she, along with her husband and several other wrestlers were released by WWE.

WWE Womens Wrestling Champion: Melina, part 2

Prior to her professional wrestling career, Perez was a fashion model. In 2001, after talking to Mike Henderson, she decided to become a professional wrestler and enrolled in Jesse Hernandez's School of Hard Knocks to train. Perez's pro-wrestling debut came in 2002 on a tour of the independent wrestling scene. She joined a number of California-based promotions, such as the Empire Wrestling Federation (EWF), where she wrestled for four years under the name Kyra. Melina Perez tried out for the WWE's reality show Tough Enough III, but was eliminated from competition in the final cut of the first episode.

Perez debuted in the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) "farm territory" Ohio Valley Wrestling (OVW) in March 2004 when Matt Cappotelli (kayfabe) brought her in as a way to taunt her ex-boyfriend Johnny Nitro. Melina, however, turned on Cappotelli and aligned herself with Nitro. Soon after, Nitro began teaming with Joey Matthews, later known as Joey Mercury. On November 10 the trio, now known as MNM, won the OVW Southern Tag Team Championship.

While in OVW, Melina made occasional appearances on WWE television. One short appearance was on a Thanksgiving episode of SmackDown! in 2003 where Melina dressed up as a Native American. She was shown serving food and drinks, and as one of the girls that John Cena raps to.

Melina also made her first RAW appearance on November 24, 2004 when Randy Orton was a guest General Manager on RAW, and hosted a diva lingerie fashion show. Melina made more RAW appearances in late 2004, including a limbo contest in December 2004, but then she later returned to Ohio Valley Wrestling and MNM.

Rhonda Singh - Female Wrestling

Rhonda Singh - Female Wrestling

Rhonda Singh (February 21, 1961 – July 27, 2001) was born Peggy Simpson and was a professional wrestler, who was a 1-time WWF Women's Champion. One of the most fearsome women to ever enter a wrestling ring, Rhonda Singh lead a long and fascinating career few North American wrestling fans were aware of. She was also the first Canadian to win the Women's Championship.
While growing up in Calgary, Singh knew she wanted to be a wrestler from an early age and attended numerous Stampede Wrestling cards as a child. As a teenager, Singh approached members of the Hart family asking to be trained. Despite being rejected, she still dreamed of becoming a professional wrestler. A trip to Hawaii in 1978 changed her life forever as she saw Japanese women's wrestling on television. A friend gave 17-year-old Singh a wrestling magazine which contained contact information for Mildred Burke's training facility in Encino, California. She wrote the women's wrestling legend and sent along a biography and photo. After receiving a reply from Burke, she made a decision which changed her life.
After a few weeks of training with Burke, Singh was scouted by All-Japan who wanted to bring her in despite her inexperience. Burke was the only U.S. trainer having women go over to Japan at the time. Her first match in Japan was with partner Mami Komeni against Beauty Pair (Jackie Sato and Maki Ueda) on January 4, 1979.

A combination of youth and inexperience made life in Japan somewhat difficult for Singh during her first few months there. Many of the established Japanese wrestlers were unwilling to share their experience with the young Canadian wrestler. It was not until she ran into a touring The Dynamite Kid that she was able to gain a greater grasp of how to deal with her fellow wrestlers.

Singh's first run in All-Japan peaked when she won their Women's World Title from Jackie Sato on July 31, 1979 -- a little over six months after her professional debut. Despite losing the title to Sato six weeks later, she regained it on March 15, 1980 via countout after outside interference from the Black Pair (Mami Kumao and Yumi Ikeshita). The title was vacated in August 1980 after another epic battle with Sato.

A brief return to Calgary in the early '80s allowed Singh the chance to finally perform in front of her hometown crowd. After another stint in Japan, Sing returned to Stampede on a regular basis in late 1987 and was named their Women's Champion as she had defeated Wendi Richter before coming back to the territory. She held the title until September 22, 1988, losing to Chigusa Nagayo. Over the next few years, Singh would once again travel throughout the world and wrestle for a number of promotions, holding several titles.

In 1995, Singh was contacted by the World Wrestling Federation to add depth to their fledgling women's division. However, she was repackaged as Harvey Wippleman's trailer park-dwelling girlfriend Bertha Faye. The original plan was to be part of an angle with Bull Nakano, who she had many epic battles with in Japan, which was meant to develop fan interest in the women's division.

But that isn't how it happened. Nakano was found in possession of cocaine which prompted a change of plans. She made her WWF Professional wrestling debut: on an episode of Monday Night Raw participating in a sneak attack Alundra Blayze making it appear as if they had broken her nose. Singh was not pleased with the development. Singh also found it incredibly difficult to adopt a new persona after spending almost all of her career as Monster Ripper. With her character creatively restricted, Singh was also limited to what moves she could perform in the ring. She was not allowed to used an overhead press or a powerbomb as other WWF stars were utilizing them at the time.

Fan interest in women's wrestling sunk once again as the year closed, even with the addition of Japanese star Aja Kong. After a year as Bertha Faye, she had the WWF release her from her contract. She briefly returned to Japan, but found it difficult to adjust to a new system without guaranteed payouts.

In late 1999, she made a brief return with World Championship Wrestling and appeared on several telecasts to generate some interest in a women's division. Women's wrestling had changed greatly in the time since Singh was last with a major North American promotion. While her stay was brief, Singh appeared to enjoy her time with the promotion.

Singh retired in 2001. She died later that year due to a drug overdose which caused a heart attack

Ring name(s) Daffney,Daffney Unger (WCW),Lucy (XPW),Lucy Furr (ROH),Shark Girl (TNA),Shannon (TNA)
Billed height 5 ft 6 in (168 cm)
Billed weight 130 lb (59 kg)

Resides Atlanta, Georgia
Billed from Paradise Island
Trained by Crowbar,Dwayne Bruce,Sugar Shane Helms,Malia Hosaka,Dusty Rhodes,Selena Majors,Leilani Kai,Johnny Slaughter,Madusa
Professional wrestling debut: November 1999

Shannon Spruill was born on July 17, 1975, in Wiesbaden Germany.
She is an American pro wrestler and valet, perhaps best known for her appearances with WCW between 1999 and 2001 under the ring name Daffney.

Spruill was born on an Air Force base in Wiesbaden where her father was stationed. In 1976 the family returned to America, living first in Salt Lake City, Utah, then in Savannah, Georgia and finally on the Scott Air Force Base in St. Clair County, Illinois. They later relocated to Oxford, England for three years, before returning to Germany until 1987, with her father, by then a retired Lieutenant Colonel.

Spruill graduated from Georgia State University in March 1998 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Film and Video production. She went on to work in Media Production before becoming an actress. In November 1999 she responded to a WCW contest looking to acquire new talent, and was hired.

In WCW, Spruill played Daffney, the mentally deranged, besotted girlfriend of David Flair, managing him and Crowbar. The gimmick was based in part on the character played by Juliette Lewis in the film Natural Born Killers. Spruill's first appearance was on the December 6 episode of Nitro, when she was shown sitting on her bed and chanting Flair's name.

On May 15, 2000 Spruill and Crowbar defeated WCW Cruiserweight Champion Chris Candido and his wife Tammy Lynn Sytch in an mixed tag team match and were declared co-champions. The following week on the May 22 episode of Nitro, Crowbar and Spruill faced one another to determine the undisputed Cruiserweight Champion. Crowbar held back during the match, but still dominated the smaller Spruill. After Candido entered the ring and hit Crowbar with a sitout piledriver, Spruill inadvertedly pinned him while trying to revive him and thus became the second woman ever to hold the Cruiserweight Championship. Her reign lasted until June 7 when Lieutenant Loco pinned Disco Inferno in a triple threat title defence while Spruill was hurt following interference from Miss Hancock (Stacy Kiebler). Spruill went on to feud with Hancock, who had stolen the affections of Flair, who had allegedly fathered Hanock's unborn child.

Daffney was notable for her constantly changing hair color, wide selection of T-shirts with slogans on them, and her propensity to scream loudly and shrilly for no apparent reason. Though Spruill's somewhat gothic character earned her a small but loyal fanbase, she was released by WCW on February 2, 2001 due to budget cutbacks (WCW itself was purchased by its rival, the World Wrestling Federation, a month later).

Shannon Spruill (Daffney) - Female Wrestling

Spruill opted to continue wrestling, attending Dusty Rhodes's Turnbuckle Championship Wrestling training camp in Kennesaw, Georgia. In 2001 she toured Europe and Australia with the World Wrestling All-Stars as Scream. She made several appearances for the fledgling TNA Wrestling promotion in 2002 as Shannon and Shark Girl, and worked for Xtreme Pro Wrestling in 2003 as Lucy, the manager of Vic Grimes. She achieved her greatest success in Ring of Honor, where she debuted on April 26, 2003 as Lucy Furr ("Lucifer"), the valet of the Second City Saints.

In July 2003 Spruill was signed to a developmental deal by WWE. She worked in Ohio Valley Wrestling as the manager of Aaron Stevens until she was released on November 8, 2003. She retired from professional wrestling in 2004 following a knee injury, intending to focus on her acting career. While retired, Spruill worked as a personal trainer. In June 2005 she posed for a website owned and operated by wrestling divas Francine and Missy Hyatt, and in February 2006 she returned to the independent circuit. Spruill debuted in Women's Extreme Wrestling on April 6, 2006, acting as a lumberjill in a match between Amy Lee and Tai Killer Weed.

On June 2, 2006 in Irondale, Alabama, Spruill faced El Mexico for the NWA Wrestle Birmingham Junior Heavyweight Championship. With the help of her manager, Robert Fuller (who referred to Spruill as his "Million Dollar Baby"), Spruil defeated El Mexico to win her third wrestling title.
