Leva Bates - Women of Wrestling
Leva Bates is so cool.
I have seen pictures of her at comic book conventions, dressed up as superheroes and anime charcters.
She's like a female Indy wrestler version of the Hurricane, only better.
Leva is five foot two, 120 pounds and she's from Gotham City (?) Florida.
(Really she's from Madisonville, Kentucky)
She was trained by Team 3D Academy and made her pro wrestling debut in March 0f 2007 and has worked for a ton of wrestling promotions like SHIMMER, Full Impact Pro, Coastal Championship Wrestling, Pro Wrestling Fusion and World Xtreme Wrestling.
Though she was never on the TNA roster, she did show up on TNA during Awesome Kong’s $25,000 Challenge.
And here's the video from March 29th, 2008 of Leva taking on Kong...

Cookie - Becky Bayless - TNA
One of the most unfortunate things TNA has done recently is the Robbie E and Cookie thing.
Now I love Becky Bayless, and I am sure Rob Eckos is a fine wrestler, but why did TNA have to bring them in and turn them into "Jersey Shore" clones?
Really, this goes back to the old WWF, and not the cool fun part either.
I suppose this is TNA's way of trying to pull in the MTV fan base.
I'm guessing next will be a Sheldon and Leonard tag team ripping off Big Bang Theory (hey...it's popular!) and maybe a vampire/werewolf tag team to get the Twilight fan base.
The sad thing is that like I mentioned earlier, I really like Becky.
Most people think of her as a valet/announcer/interviewer, but she has gotten in quite a bit of ring time.
Back in 2008, Pro Wrestling Illustrated (PWI) ranked Becky as number 37 in the best 50 female singles wrestlers and she once held the Texas Wrestling Entertainment (TWE) Texas Ladies Championship.
She has worked (as a wrestler) for wrestling promotions Ring of Honor (ROH), Wrestling Superstars Unleashed (WSU), Women Superstars Uncensored and on Wrestlicious (as Brooke Lynn) she took part in the "Hoedown Throwdown" (sigh) twenty girl battle royal.
I don't see why TNA didn't just get Becky some wrestling gear and put her in the ring as a Knockout and not have to resort to this MTV ripoff stuff.
MTV and wrestling doesn't mix.
Remember Wrestling Society X?
One of the more embarrassing moments as JWoww From Jersey Shore faces off with Cookie on TNA iMPACT....
Even though I don't like Cookie, I still love me some Becky, and you can see her live on Saturday, December 18th at CWF Mid-Atlantic’s anniversary event “Battlecade XI”.
ArenaChicks will have her there for a special autograph andphotograph session.

Becky Bayless, Christina Von Erie and Katie Lea at TNA
A couple of Indy wrestlers have gotten try-outs at TNA lately.
As I mentioned last time, Becky Bayless and Rob Eckos are supposed to be doing a parody of "Jersey Shore" stars Snooki and The Situation, and Becky was teamed with Kazuchika Okada in a Dark Match.
Well it seems the try-out dark match didn't go too well.
Becky and Okada took on Shannon Moore and Christina Von Erie in a mixed tag-team match that was called by some "the worst dark match in history."
Lucha Libre fans may have seen Christina working for the Asistencia AsesorÃa y Administración (AAA) wrestling promotion in Mexico.
In other good news, Katie Lea had a tryout with TNA as well.
If you have read this blog for long, you know I had my eye on Katie way back in July of 2007 when she just got to the States.
Kat had a tryout match with former Knockouts Champion, Madison Rayne using the name Katie Larue.
By all accounts that match went very well.

Becky Bayless to TNA
Well as pretty much everybody and their brother are reporting, TNA has signed Becky Bayless to a contract.
She had a try-out match last week, and now the number two wrestling promotion has signed both Becky and Rob Eckos as a parody of "Jersey Shore" stars Snooki and The Situation.
Becky's ring name is rumored to be "Cookie"...like "Snooki"....get it?
Although Becky is way better looking than her MTV counterpart.
Becky (whose real name is Rebecca Treston) was born on February 3rd, 1982, and made her wrestling debut in 2002.
She was trained by Ring of Honor (ROH) and TNA star Homicide.
Becky has worked for wrestling promotions like Ring of Honor, Wrestlicious, Women's Extreme Wrestling, Full Impact Pro and Shimmer Women Athletes.

MsChif Updates
http://sports.groups.yahoo.com/group/shimmerwrestling/
Another female wrestler I haven't updated in awhile....
MsChif.
I like MsChif, I always have and I always will.
"Your Soul's Tormentor" has wrestled for several promotions including the National Wrestling Alliance (NWA), Shimmer Women Athletes, Gateway Championship Wrestling (GCW), All Pro Wrestling (APW), Coastal Wrestling Alliance (CWA), Ring of Honor (ROH), IWA Mid South and even NWA: Total Nonstop Action (NWA:TNA).
As far as belts go, she has held the Coastal Wrestling Association Tag Team Championship with Cindy Rogers, the GCW Light Heavyweight Championship, the NWA World Women's Championship twice, the NWA Midwest Women's Championship twice, the NWA Midwest/IWA Mid-South Women's Championship, the Shimmer Championship and she was the winner of
ChickFight IV.
Now that Daffney is in TNA, nothing would make me happier than to see her drop the "Governor" gimmick, go back to crazy Daffney and bring MsChif in to be her partner.
TNA wouldnt know what hit them.

Sherri Martel. part 8

In the late 1990s, Sherri Martel worked on the independent circuit. Early in 1999, Martel competed in a mixed-tag team match for the AWF World Heavyweight Title (a men's title). Martel teamed with Squeegee Kid against Missy Hyatt and Ms. B Haven. Hyatt scored an upset and pinned Martel to win the title. In the summer of 1999, she appeared on the Heroes of Wrestling pay-per-view managing George Steele against Greg Valentine. Also in 1999, she was awarded the AWA Superstars Women's Championship.
In 2000, Martel made a brief return to WCW to wrestle Madusa and Mona, but turned down a long-term commitment. This was during the promotion's short-lived attempt at recreating a women's division. She was originally contacted to manage the newest incarnation of Harlem Heat, but due to a management transition the plans changed. Since she was already backstage, the promoters had her wrestle Madusa on the January 19, 2000 edition of WCW Thunder. She returned and wrestled Mona on the March 11, 2000 edition of WCW WorldWide. After the match, she and Madusa had a confrontation.
In 2002, she made appearances in Ohio Valley Wrestling (OVW) feuding with Victoria and managing Rob Conway. In 2005, Martel appeared at "Wrestle Reunion" in an 8-woman tag team match (teaming with Peggy Lee Leather, Krissy Vaine, and Amber O'Neal wrestling against Wendi Richter, Bambi, Malia Hosaka, and Jenny Taylor). Martel's team was accompanied by Joyce Grable.
In 2005, she was married, and was on her honeymoon in Japan when WWE contacted her and asked her to take part in a storyline with Kurt Angle shortly before WrestleMania 21.
She made a return to WWE SmackDown! as part of the Shawn Michaels/Kurt Angle feud leading up to WrestleMania 21. There she sang a parody of Michaels' theme song with Angle, but a video showing Shawn's history moved Sherri emotionally. Kurt then saw this and applied the Ankle Lock to her.
She was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame by Ted DiBiase on April 1, 2006. She and the rest of the inductees (excluding Bret Hart) made an appearance at WrestleMania 22 when they were each introduced to the crowd. She was accompanied by DiBiase during her appearance.
Prior to appearing in TNA, Martel turned down an offer from Jeff Jarrett to work a program with Trinity. The reason Martel turned down the offer (as well as the long-term commitment offer to return to WCW in 2000 to feud with Madusa) is because she did not want to put herself in the position to potentially travel back down the dark road that accompanies the physical and emotional stresses of professional wrestling .
On September 4, 2006, she worked for Total Nonstop Action Wrestling, taping a backstage vignette trying to offer her managerial services to "free agent" Bobby Roode that aired on the September 21, 2006 TNA iMPACT!; it was her last television appearance.
On June 15, 2007, WWE.com announced that Martel had died that morning at her mother's residence in Birmingham, Alabama. Dave Meltzer stated on his Wrestling Observer Live radio show that Martel's passing was a result of a possible drug abuse, and that the case was still under investigation by law enforcement. On June 19, 2007, police confirmed that Martel did not die of natural causes, but foul play was not suspected. Based on what was known, Martel had gone to bed at her mother's home (where she was living recently) because she wasn't feeling well. Her husband found her unresponsive later that afternoon. Sherri's sister Vickie claimed Sherri died while drinking coffee with her mother on the front porch of her mother's home. Vickie suspected Sherri was taking some sort of medication/drug for her heart..
A cause of death for Martel was not initially known due to the autopsy and toxicology reports needing 5-6 months to complete, but on September 11 homicide investigators in Tuscaloosa, Alabama released their report stating that she died of an accidental overdose with multiple drugs in her system, including high amounts of oxycodone. The UK's Sun ran a story on the death of Sherri Martel entitled "Hillbilly Heroin killed Sherri." The article notes that the autopsy report on her showed six different drugs in her system at the time of her death. A lethal concentration of the powerful painkiller Oxycodone, also sometimes referred to as "Hillbilly Heroin," was discovered in her system.
Sherri was buried on June 28, 2007.

Born in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, Orsini became involved in bodybuilding and strength training in 1991 and, the following year, began studying Tae Kwon Do and Hopkido.
During 1993, she competed as a heavyweight in the North Miami Beach Bodybuilding Championship and the South Florida Bodybuilding Championships winning second place in both competitions.
After three years of training, Orsini became a Black Belt and entered an instructor training program eventually teaching Tae Kwon Do. That same year, she began training with Bart Vale in freefighting and mixed martial arts.
She began fighting professionally in 1996, winning the Florida State Continuous Fighting Championship before travelling to Japan to make her MMA debut against Yokimiko Hotta in March 1996.
While in Japan, Orsini was persuaded by female wrestler Reggie Bennett to enter professional wrestling after watching Japanese female wrestling. Returning to the United States, she began training under Liz Chase in Royal Palm Beach, Florida and made her debut five months later facing Joanni Lee Lauer at the Iron Horse Saloon in Ormond Beach, Florida in October 1996.
She soon began wrestling for the Fabulous Moolah's Ladies International Wrestling Federation and eventually won several championship titles including the Sunshine Wrestling Federation Women's Championship defeating Luna Vachon in 1997 and defeated her trainer Liz Chase for the Florida Championship Wrestling and Ultimate Wrestling Federation titles during the next two years.
In 1999, she became less active on the independent circuit fighting a mixed martial arts match for the hybrid-MMA promotion Pancrase at the Bronco Bowl in Dallas, Texas and again competing in the South Florida Bodybuilding Championships receiving second place. She also appeared twice on The Jenny Jones Show on a segment about women who intimidate men regarding their occupation and, the following year, on women in abusive relationships.
Orsini began wrestling in international promotions during the next year, touring Peru with Lita and participated in the Trans-Atlantic Challenge while in Great Britain.
Orsini, who had previously sent a video tape her wrestling matches to ECW, was hired by promoter Paul Heyman and began appearing as The Prodigette managing the stable Sideshow Freaks which included Simon Diamond, Johnny Swinger, The Muskateer, Tom Marquez and Bilvis Wesley.
Feuding with Jazz, she also contronted male wrestlers including Jerry Lynn who put her in a piledriver at her last appearance at the ECW Arena. Staying with the promotion until its close in 2001, she was forced to miss the last house show after being severely injured in a car accident.
Although doctors had told Orsini that she had suffered a career ending injury, she successfully returned to wrestling within six months and later won the PGWA Championship from Susan Green, she dedicated her victory to the memory of her trainer Liz Chase who passed away earlier that year.

Sharmell Sullivan-Huffman, Part 2
Sullivan was re-hired by the (now renamed) World Wrestling Entertainment in 2005, debuting as a face valet for her real-life husband Booker T. Together they took part in a feud with Kurt Angle, during which he continually sexually harassed her. She eventually turned heel when she started interfering in Booker's matches, presumably without his knowledge. Her involvement escalated until she helped Booker win the United States Championship from Chris Benoit, which preceded a heel turn by Booker when he revealed he knew of her involvement in his matches the entire time.
Sullivan and Booker T then began a feud with The Boogeyman, and during a match at WrestleMania 22 he managed to kiss Sullivan while he had a mouth full of worms.
After Booker T's victory in the 2006 King of the Ring tournament, Booker T began referring to himself as "King Booker" and Sharmell as "Queen Sharmell". Their new gimmick had seen them acting pompous and attempting British accents.
On the April 6, 2007 episode of SmackDown! Sullivan turned on her husband, claiming his failure to defeat Matt Hardy that night -- after he'd nearly attacked her during WrestleMania 23 -- meant he didn't care about her honor. Later that night, Booker tried to impress Sharmell by attacking World Heavyweight Champion The Undertaker which ended in Booker being hit with a Tombstone piledriver on the announce table, which sprained Booker's neck and put him out of action. On the June 11 edition of RAW, Sharmell (with King Booker) was drafted from SmackDown! to RAW as part of the WWE Draft.
On October 16, WWE announced that Sharmell along with Booker would be released from their contracts as of October 27.
At the TNA Genesis pay per view on November 11, 2007, Sharmell debuted in TNA during the TNA World Heavyweight Championship match attacking Karen Angle.

MsChif - Women of Wrestling
Wrestler: MsChif
Hometown: Billed from The Inferno
Height & Weight: 5'7" - 135 lbs
Trained by: Johnny Greenpeace , Jack Adonis
Pro Wrestling Debut: July 19, 2001
Finishing Move: Code Green (Yoshi Tonic, Sunset flip powerbomb)
Favorite Moves:Desecrator (Scissored single arm DDT) , Red Mist
Notable Feuds: Daizee Haze, Mickie Knuckles, Cheerleader Melissa
MsChif is a female professional wrestler. Working primarily on the independent circuit, she has made a name for herself by winning several championships, including the NWA Midwest Women's championship. She has wrestled for the United States' most prominent women's promotion, SHIMMER, has once won the ChickFight women's tournament, and is a former NWA World Women's Champion.
MsChif debuted in July 2001 working for Gateway Championship Wrestling where she was trained by Johnny Greenpeace and Jack Adonis. On that show, she formed an alliance with Delirious that became known as Diabolic Khaos. The team quickly engaged in a feud with Matt Sydal and Daizee Haze which continued on and off for several years, with MsChif primarily wrestling singles matches against Haze or mixed tag matches.
MsChif went on to work in numerous promotions across the United States, notably NWA Missouri, IWA Mid-South, TNA Wrestling and Ring of Honor, with her feud with Haze often following her. She started to chase the NWA Midwest Women's championship, making it to the second round of the tournament to crown the first champion, but losing to eventual champion Lacey. MsChif feuded with Lacey, Mercedes Martinez and Mickie Knuckles until she finally managed to defeat Daizee Haze to win the title. She lost to Mickie Knuckles in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in a triple threat match also involving Allison Danger, but NWA Midwest voided the title change, and she remained champion until losing the title back to Haze in a mixed tag match with Delirious and Sydal.
She appeared on the first SHIMMER Women Athletes show in November 2005, where she scored an upset victory over Cheerleader Melissa that sparked a feud between the two women. This led to a number of battles between the two, including a Falls Count Anywhere match and a Last Woman Standing match. MsChif also won a six woman match featuring some of SHIMMER's top stars at a Ring of Honor show in March 2006. In April, she won the fourth ChickFight women's tournament defeating Mercedes Martinez in the final, and in January 2007 she pinned Christie Ricci to win the NWA World Women's Championship. On March 24, 2007 she pinned Josie to also capture the NWA Midwest Women's Championship.
On May 5, 2007 in Streamwood, Illinois, MsChif was defeated by Amazing Kong for the NWA World Women's Championship in a title versus title match. Kong had put up her AWA World Women's Championship in that match.
In September 2007, she legitimately sprained her ankle in three places. On September 29 at UCW-Zero's "Shock and Awe" event held at Hill Air Force Base in Utah, Junior X took her place in a previously scheduled match against Cheerleader Melissa. From ringside MsChif hit Melissa with an Asian mist to help Junior X claim the victory.

Goldy Locks - Ladies Pro Wrestling

Manager: Goldy Locks
Real Name: Moon Shadow (after a Cat Stevens song)
Hometown: Minneapolis, Minnesota
Debut: 2002 in TNA
Previous Names: The Queen of Contradiction
Notable Feuds: Erik Watts
Official Website: http://www.goldylocks.com
Moon Shadow (born March 28th in Minneapolis, Minnesota) is a musician and professional wrestling personality who uses the stage name Goldylocks or Goldy Locks.
Shadow was born to hippie parents in a "financially challenged" neighborhood in North Minneapolis, Minnesota. She taught herself how to play the guitar, keyboard, and violin.
By 1999, Shadow was an opening act for artists like Pink. In 2000, Futuristic Records released her single "Kiss," a song she wrote and recorded in English, French, and Spanish. Within weeks, the song became runaway success in the American Midwest, remaining in the Top 10 for over 17 weeks.
One of Shadow's concerts caught the attention of the upstart wrestling company NWA:TNA, and Shadow took on the stage name Goldylocks. She started as a backstage announcer, and later became a valet with a rich-girl gimmick for Erik Watts, her kayfabe love interest. Later, Goldylocks broke up with Watts and Abyss became her protector. Goldylocks had Abyss wrestle Watts, announcing her money was up for grabs against Watts' contract. Abyss won and she sold the contract to bring in Alex Shelley.
Goldylocks and her new boyfriend "Baby Bear" (Shelley) went on to claim more contracts in future matches, using Abyss (who was treated as “extra luggage”) to lay claim to Sonny Siaki, D-Ray 3000, and Shark Boy. In these tag matches, Goldylocks had Abyss do all the work, then bring in Shelley to pin their opponent. When Watts returned to TNA, a match was set up matching Watts, Sonny Siaki, and Desire against Abyss, Goldylocks, and Shelley. Abyss turned on Goldylocks in this match, and finally left her.
