She Nay Nay Updates

She Nay Nay

Way back on March 3rd, 2008, I did a write up on female wrestler She Nay Nay (Athanasia Alexopoulos).
Now all these years later I run into She Nay Nay wrestling for SHIMMER?
Is this the same lady?
I guess it is.

It looks like She Nay Nay has been wrestling since 2004, starting out with Border City Wrestling.
She's worked for wrestling promotions like Pure Wrestling Association, Atlantic Grand Prix Wrestling, Universal Wrestling Alliance, Ohio Valley Wrestling, Derby Championship Wrestling, Hoosier Pro Wrestling and Irish Whip Wrestling.

She Nay Nay

She showed up in the United Kingdom as "Miss Anthea" and wrestled for All-Star British Wrestling and NCW Femmes Fatales.
She Nay Nay even made an appearance for the WWE, wrestling Beth Phoenix under the name "Jenny Brooks" in 2009 on SmackDown.
It's really kinda cool to do a profile on a wrestler like her, then see her work all over the US, Canada, Britain, Ireland and even tour South Korea.

You can see more pictures of She Nay Nay at Wrestling Wally's website here.

Sherri Martel. part 8

In the late 1990s, Sherri Martel worked on the independent circuit. Early in 1999, Martel competed in a mixed-tag team match for the AWF World Heavyweight Title (a men's title). Martel teamed with Squeegee Kid against Missy Hyatt and Ms. B Haven. Hyatt scored an upset and pinned Martel to win the title. In the summer of 1999, she appeared on the Heroes of Wrestling pay-per-view managing George Steele against Greg Valentine. Also in 1999, she was awarded the AWA Superstars Women's Championship.

In 2000, Martel made a brief return to WCW to wrestle Madusa and Mona, but turned down a long-term commitment. This was during the promotion's short-lived attempt at recreating a women's division. She was originally contacted to manage the newest incarnation of Harlem Heat, but due to a management transition the plans changed. Since she was already backstage, the promoters had her wrestle Madusa on the January 19, 2000 edition of WCW Thunder. She returned and wrestled Mona on the March 11, 2000 edition of WCW WorldWide. After the match, she and Madusa had a confrontation.

In 2002, she made appearances in Ohio Valley Wrestling (OVW) feuding with Victoria and managing Rob Conway. In 2005, Martel appeared at "Wrestle Reunion" in an 8-woman tag team match (teaming with Peggy Lee Leather, Krissy Vaine, and Amber O'Neal wrestling against Wendi Richter, Bambi, Malia Hosaka, and Jenny Taylor). Martel's team was accompanied by Joyce Grable.

In 2005, she was married, and was on her honeymoon in Japan when WWE contacted her and asked her to take part in a storyline with Kurt Angle shortly before WrestleMania 21.

She made a return to WWE SmackDown! as part of the Shawn Michaels/Kurt Angle feud leading up to WrestleMania 21. There she sang a parody of Michaels' theme song with Angle, but a video showing Shawn's history moved Sherri emotionally. Kurt then saw this and applied the Ankle Lock to her.

She was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame by Ted DiBiase on April 1, 2006. She and the rest of the inductees (excluding Bret Hart) made an appearance at WrestleMania 22 when they were each introduced to the crowd. She was accompanied by DiBiase during her appearance.

Prior to appearing in TNA, Martel turned down an offer from Jeff Jarrett to work a program with Trinity. The reason Martel turned down the offer (as well as the long-term commitment offer to return to WCW in 2000 to feud with Madusa) is because she did not want to put herself in the position to potentially travel back down the dark road that accompanies the physical and emotional stresses of professional wrestling .

On September 4, 2006, she worked for Total Nonstop Action Wrestling, taping a backstage vignette trying to offer her managerial services to "free agent" Bobby Roode that aired on the September 21, 2006 TNA iMPACT!; it was her last television appearance.

On June 15, 2007, WWE.com announced that Martel had died that morning at her mother's residence in Birmingham, Alabama. Dave Meltzer stated on his Wrestling Observer Live radio show that Martel's passing was a result of a possible drug abuse, and that the case was still under investigation by law enforcement. On June 19, 2007, police confirmed that Martel did not die of natural causes, but foul play was not suspected. Based on what was known, Martel had gone to bed at her mother's home (where she was living recently) because she wasn't feeling well. Her husband found her unresponsive later that afternoon. Sherri's sister Vickie claimed Sherri died while drinking coffee with her mother on the front porch of her mother's home. Vickie suspected Sherri was taking some sort of medication/drug for her heart..

A cause of death for Martel was not initially known due to the autopsy and toxicology reports needing 5-6 months to complete, but on September 11 homicide investigators in Tuscaloosa, Alabama released their report stating that she died of an accidental overdose with multiple drugs in her system, including high amounts of oxycodone. The UK's Sun ran a story on the death of Sherri Martel entitled "Hillbilly Heroin killed Sherri." The article notes that the autopsy report on her showed six different drugs in her system at the time of her death. A lethal concentration of the powerful painkiller Oxycodone, also sometimes referred to as "Hillbilly Heroin," was discovered in her system.

Sherri was buried on June 28, 2007.

Benoit deaths still treated as murder-suicide

Deaths still treated as murder-suicide
DA: Web post won't shift focus

By KEVIN DUFFY, KATHY JEFCOATS, ERIC STIRGUS
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution

Published on: 06/30/07

The Chris Benoit killings will continue to be treated as two murders and a suicide, despite an online posting about the mother's death made before the bodies were found, Fayette County District Attorney Scott Ballard said.

"I am confident the conclusion of our investigation will be murder-suicide," Ballard said Friday. "That is based on the medical examiner's report and other evidence."

A user of Wikipedia, the online encyclopedia, admitted making edits to wrestling star Benoit's profile, mentioning the death of his wife, Nancy, more than 14 hours before authorities arrived at the crime scene. Last weekend, Benoit killed his wife and mentally impaired son, Daniel, 7, before committing suicide, officials said.

The anonymous Wikipedia user, in a lengthy post added to the Web site early Friday, wrote of being "deeply sorry" and called the situation a "terrible coincidence."

Ballard, district attorney for Fayette County, where the Benoits lived, said the posting is being investigated, but added it won't change the thrust of the case.

The Wikipedia user acknowledged being from Stamford, Conn., home of World Wrestling Entertainment, Benoit's employer. In the message, the individual claimed no connection to WWE.

Benoit death information was "coincidence," Wikipedia poster says

Benoit death information was "coincidence," Wikipedia poster says

By Eric Stirgus
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution

Published on: 06/28/07

The person who wrote an entry on the Wikipedia Web site that pro wrestler Chris Benoit's wife was dead before authorities found her body said Friday he was just passing along a rumor that was "a terrible coincidence."

The writer, who declined to be identified, wrote a five-paragraph statement Friday to Wikipedia, apologizing.

The writer is from Stamford, Conn., home of World Wrestling Entertainment, Benoit's employer. The writer posted the rumor after Benoit didn't show up at a WWE match last weekend. WWE officials said Benoit told them he had a family emergency.

"It was just a rumor that I had heard about from other people online who were speculating what the family emergency Chris was attending to," the writer said. "I made a big mistake by posting this comment on his page."

He called the posting "a terrible coincidence."

WWE: Candice Michelle

Candice Michelle, Candice, wwe wrestling, wwe wrestlers, wwe pictures
Ring name(s): Candice Michelle,Candice
Billed Height: 5 ft 7 in (1.70 m)
Billed Weight: 120 lbs.
Born: September 30th, 1978,Milwaukee, Wisconsin
Resides: Los Angeles, California
Trained by: Torrie Wilson,Victoria, Dave Finlay, Trish Stratus, Arn Anderson and Grant McKee
Wrestling Debut: November 15, 2004

Candice Michelle Beckman was born on September 30th, 1978 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
She is better known as Candice Michelle or just Candice, and is a model, actress, and professional wrestler of German and Costa Rican descent.

Candice Michelle came to WWE as a contestant in the 2004 WWE Diva Search. Although she wasn't one of the final ten contestants to make it to the televised event, WWE hired Candice anyway and placed her on the RAW brand under the gimmick of a makeup artist. Initially, Candice Michelle's role was limited. She was never given an angle on RAW and she rarely made television appearances unless to participate in one of the program's occasional lingerie pillow fights or bikini contests that were held between Christy Hemme, Maria Kanellis, Stacy Keibler, and herself.

On June 30, 2005, at the end of the WWE Draft Lottery, Candice Michelle was traded to the SmackDown! brand, where she became involved in a feud between Torrie Wilson and Melina Perez. Candice Michelle quickly became Jillian Hall and Melina's rival when she befriended Wilson. On July 24, 2005, at The Great American Bash 2005, Candice Michelle served as the Special Guest Referee for the Bra and Panties match between Torrie Wilson and Melina. Melina was victorious, and after the match, Melina pushed Candice from behind. This resulted in both divas attacking Melina and removing her bottoms as well.

She was then moved to RAW in a trade along with Wilson, while Keibler and Hemme went to SmackDown!. From that point on, Candice and Wilson taunted Ashley Massaro (2005 WWE Diva Search Winner), bringing in Victoria to attack her as part of their "initiation" for the new Diva. This continued on until Trish Stratus returned from an injury to help Massaro retaliate against Candice and her two cohorts, who became known as the heel stable Ladies in Pink, and later known as Vince's Devils, which seemed to be a play on Charlie's Angels.

Candice then began a gimmick where she acted like a princess. She would go to the ring carrying a plastic wand and opening her jacket to the crowd while standing on the ring apron to reveal her risque' wrestling attire.

Candice's first shot at the WWE Women's Championship came at Taboo Tuesday 2005 where she lost in a Fulfill Your Fantasy Battle Royal.

She would appear at New Year's Revolution 2006 in the first ever Bra and Panties Gauntlet Match, but was elimated by Maria.

After winning a Women's Battle Royal on RAW, Candice Michelle would get her first singles WWE Women's Championship match while a part of Vince's Devils, but lost to then-champion Trish Stratus on February 27, 2006. After this match, Candice Michelle slapped Wilson, blaming her for the loss.

Vince's Devils was short-lived because Torrie Wilson became a babyface diva once again when Candice Michelle and Victoria turned on her during Candice's Playboy cover unveiling. This lengthy feud between Candice Michelle and Wilson led to a match in which Playboy's then-newest cover girl Candice Michelle would face off against the 2-time former cover girl (Wilson) at WrestleMania 22 in a Playboy Pillow Fight. Wilson won the match, but the feud continued on-and-off when Michelle was working backstage segments. In late 2006, they resolved the feud as they appeared in segments together and even worked together in some matches.

Candice also appeared in both of 2006's Saturday Night's Main Events on NBC. In the March 18 episode, she and Victoria lost to Trish Stratus and Mickie James in a tag team match. On the July 15 program, Candice was eliminated in the first round of a Divas' bikini bull riding competition, which was won by Michelle McCool.

On the July 17, 2006 edition of RAW, Candice was the Special Guest Referee during a tag team match between Trish Stratus & Torrie Wilson vs. Victoria & Mickie James . At one point, Mickie James got in Candice's face, but Candice retaliated by slapping her and tossing her out of the ring. Afterwards, Victoria tried to clothesline Candice but she ducked, allowing Trish to hit the Stratusfaction gaining the victory for her and Torrie Wilson. This incident resulted in Candice becoming a babyface, and the feud with Mickie and Victoria lasted a few weeks.

After Unforgiven 2006 Candice then began a short feud with Lita, even winning a match against her the night after, but going on to loose against her the next week after interference from Edge in the first round of the WWE Women's Championship tournament. She would later compete in the first ever Extreme Strip Poker segment on ECW on Sci-fi on October 10, 2006 representing RAW.

On November 27, 2006 edition of RAW, during the Women's Battle Royal, Candice suffered a broken nose when Victoria nailed her in the face with a savate kick. She had surgery on November 30, 2006 to repair her deviated septum.

Candice returned at New Year's Revolution 2007 on January 7, 2007, when she went down to the ring with Maria to fight off Melina as she tried to interfere in the WWE Women's Championship match between champion Mickie James and Victoria. Candice made her in-ring return on January 22 when she and Mickie James defeated Victoria and Melina in a tag team match. Her next feud came when Melina claimed in her blogs that all Playboy cover models were not capable of fighting her in the ring. Candice took offense to this and challenged Melina to a Bra and Panties Match, which she lost. On April 6, 2007, Heat episode Candice defeated Victoria with her Candy Kick.(Occasionally referred to as a Spinning Wheel Kick or Kneel Kick this usually involves the wrestler spinning as they jump so that his body is somewhat horizontal, before hitting their opponent with back of his leg(s) or heel(s) on the face, neck or chest. Rob Van Dam does a variation of this called the "Van Daminator", in which Rob Van Dam forces a steel chair into the face of the opponent using a spinning heel kick)

ECW - Beulah McGillicutty

ECW - Beulah McGillicutty

Beulah McGillicutty was born Trisa Hayes on March 14th, 1969 in Muskegon, Michigan. She is an American pro wrestling valet, best known for her appearances with ECW in the late 1990s and she is currently signed to WWE.

On June 7, 2006, it was announced that Beulah would be in the corner of Dreamer and Terry Funk against Mick Foley and Edge at ECW One Night Stand 2006 as an equalizer to Lita. On the day of the PPV, the tag match was later changed to a six-person mixed tag match pitting Edge, Foley, and Lita against Dreamer, Funk, and herself. Wrestling barefoot, Beulah handled Lita and appeared on the verge of victory. However, Dreamer, Funk, and Beulah lost the match when Edge speared and pinned Beulah with a provocative cover. She has yet to appear in WWE's new ECW brand even though she is still apparently under contract with them.

After he retirement from wrestling, Hayes returned to college. On October 12, 2002 at the Lake Isle Country Club in Eastchester, New York, Hayes married Thomas "Tommy Dreamer" Laughlin, with whom she later had twin girls, Brianna Laughlin and Kimberly Laughlin. The twins appeared in the season six episode of "The Sopranos" called "The Ride" as Domenica Baccalieri.
