Five foot three, 139 pound Marie Laverne was one of the most beautiful women wrestlers to ever set foot in a ring.
Just because she looked like a model, that didn't keep her from going toe to toe with women like Sherri Lee, Betty Nicoli, Sandy Parker and several times with one of the best female wrestlers in the world....Vivian Vachon

Jay Lethal and Taeler Hendrix
Yeah I know this is "Women's Pro Wrestling", but in this picture, the beautiful Taeler Hendrix has to share the spotlight with Jay Lethal.
I think that's okay though.
I'll allow it.
But to make up for it, here is Taeler Hendrix vs Deonna Purrazzo...

Bette Boucher vs Vivian Vachon - Classic Womens Pro Wrestling
Here are a few pictures of a classic women's wrestling battle with Bette Boucher taking on Vivian Vachon.
I'm guessing this match is from the late 1960s.
Though it may be the match in 1971 when Vivian beat Bette for to win the AWA Women's title in Winnipeg, Manitoba

Mayumi Ozaki and Saraya Knight - Not All The Heels Are Gone
I talk a lot about how we have lost a lot of the "roughness" in women's pro wrestling.
The prancing Divas of the WWE will never know what it's like to get curb stomped, slammed into and through a table.
Or be bitten, gouged, stomped, kicked and punched in a match anymore.
But in the Indy promotions, the ladies still get a lot rougher than their WWE counterparts.
And here are two of the roughest ladies to ever step into a ring anywhere, Japan's Mayumi Ozaki and the UK's Saraya Knight.
Two ladies that can take as good as the get, dish out the punishment and keep going and going.
Yeah Saraya is WWE Diva Paige's mom, so Paige might be able to hang with the big girls too if given a chance.
But these to ladies here are classic rough and tough heels.

Ayumi Kurihara - Pro Wrestling
Today we have joshi puroresu star, Ayumi Kurihara.

She has been doing a lot of work here in the US, mainly for wrestling promotions like ROH (Ring of Honor), Shimmer Women Athletes and Jersey All Pro Wrestling.
Ayumi is not a stranger to rings outside of Japan anyway, since she has worked for Mexican wrestling promotions like CMLL where she often wrestles masked as AYUMI.

Goldy Locks - Ladies Pro Wrestling

Manager: Goldy Locks
Real Name: Moon Shadow (after a Cat Stevens song)
Hometown: Minneapolis, Minnesota
Debut: 2002 in TNA
Previous Names: The Queen of Contradiction
Notable Feuds: Erik Watts
Official Website: http://www.goldylocks.com
Moon Shadow (born March 28th in Minneapolis, Minnesota) is a musician and professional wrestling personality who uses the stage name Goldylocks or Goldy Locks.
Shadow was born to hippie parents in a "financially challenged" neighborhood in North Minneapolis, Minnesota. She taught herself how to play the guitar, keyboard, and violin.
By 1999, Shadow was an opening act for artists like Pink. In 2000, Futuristic Records released her single "Kiss," a song she wrote and recorded in English, French, and Spanish. Within weeks, the song became runaway success in the American Midwest, remaining in the Top 10 for over 17 weeks.
One of Shadow's concerts caught the attention of the upstart wrestling company NWA:TNA, and Shadow took on the stage name Goldylocks. She started as a backstage announcer, and later became a valet with a rich-girl gimmick for Erik Watts, her kayfabe love interest. Later, Goldylocks broke up with Watts and Abyss became her protector. Goldylocks had Abyss wrestle Watts, announcing her money was up for grabs against Watts' contract. Abyss won and she sold the contract to bring in Alex Shelley.
Goldylocks and her new boyfriend "Baby Bear" (Shelley) went on to claim more contracts in future matches, using Abyss (who was treated as “extra luggage”) to lay claim to Sonny Siaki, D-Ray 3000, and Shark Boy. In these tag matches, Goldylocks had Abyss do all the work, then bring in Shelley to pin their opponent. When Watts returned to TNA, a match was set up matching Watts, Sonny Siaki, and Desire against Abyss, Goldylocks, and Shelley. Abyss turned on Goldylocks in this match, and finally left her. Goldylocks left TNA shortly after, and turned her attention back to music.
On January 8, 2003, in TNA, Goldylocks was attacked by Kim Nielson and recieved a legit concussion.
July 22-24, 2005, Goldylocks took part of the NAMM Summer Session, a 3-day musical event at the Indiana Convention Centre.

Wrestler: The Fabulous Moolah

Moolah won the first World Women's Championship by defeating Judy Grable in the finals of a tournament in September 1956, and according to WWE history, she held on to the belt until July 1984 when she lost to Wendi Richter in the main event at a show at Madison Square Garden. ( This of course is not true, she lost the title several times....just look around the web) This match was televised live on MTV, since pop superstar Cyndi Lauper was Richter's manager for the bout. Moolah was seconded by wrestling manager Captain Lou Albano. Although this reign is disputed by many, both the WWE and Moolah maintain she did not lose the belt for 28 years (although, according to Obsessed With Wrestling, Moolah held the belt three times between 1956 and 1984, her last title gain being in 1966).
After losing the title to Richter, Moolah trained Leilani Kai, who beat Richter for the title in February 1985. Richter won it back at Wrestlemania I. Moolah then set out to win the title for herself. She disguised herself as the masked "Spider Lady" to win the belt back in November 1985, but she was unmasked by Richter after the match. This bout had an infamous "screwjob" finish; Richter was not aware she was going to lose, and she subsequently quit the WWF after this match.
Moolah would trade the belt back and forth with Velvet McIntyre during a tour of Australia in 1986, and retired from full time competition shortly after losing the belt to Sherri Martel in July 1987. Moolah would captain a team at Survivor Series 1987. Her team (Moolah, Velvet McIntyre, Rockin' Robin, and the Jumping Bomb Angels) defeated then champion Martell and her team (Leilani Kai, Judy Martin, Donna Christanello, and Dawn Marie).
Moolah was inducted into the WWF Hall of Fame in 1995, becoming the first female wrestler to enter the Hall of Fame. In 1999, she re-emerged along with Mae Young on the September 9th episode of SmackDown! when Jeff Jarrett invited Moolah into the ring. He then proceeded to crack a guitar over Moolah's head.
On the September 27 edition of Monday Night Raw, Moolah and Young defeated Ivory in a "Handicapped Evening Gown Match". This led to a title match at the No Mercy 1999 on October 17. The then 76 year old Moolah beat Ivory to win the women's title, thus becoming the oldest WWE Women's Champion ever, but she lost the title back to Ivory two weeks later. Also in 1999, Moolah and Young appeared on the 10th annual Billboard Music Awards. Since then, Moolah and Young have made several cameo appearances on WWE programming. The two ladies both currently reside in Columbia, South Carolina.
On the September 15, 2003 edition of RAW Moolah was scheduled to be in a match against Victoria. Moolah had been promised a match for her 80th birthday. After Moolah's victory the "Legend Killer" Randy Orton came out and gave Moolah an RKO. Moohlah and Mae Young made another appearance at New Years Revolution 2006, during a Bra and Panties Gauntlet Match attacking Victoria and stripping her of her top.
Moolah and Young, along with several other lady wrestlers, starred in the 2004 film "Lipstick and Dynamite" which is a documentary about the women wrestlers from the 1950s era. They appeared on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno to promote the film.
On March 31, 2007, The Fabulous Moolah, along with Mae Young, attented the WWE Hall of Fame 2007 Ceremonies on the eve of WrestleMania 23. At WrestleMania 23, she appeared along with Slick, Ricky Steamboat, Jimmy Hart, Irwin R. Schyster, Dusty Rhodes, Sgt. Slaughter, Gene Okerlund, Pat Patterson and Gerald Brisco dancing backstage with Eugene, Cryme Tyme, Kelly Kelly, Layla El, and Brooke Adams.
Moolah has long maintained that she plans to still be wrestling when she turns 100.

Forwarded Message from Patti Powers about KC Kelly...
From Patti Powers:
KC Kelly
" As many of you probably know she lost her husband without warning last
week. She called Friday and is really just stressing out big time as
far as covering the cost of his funeral. She asked Marvin to just pay
for it for her but we don't have the money to just pay if all for her
and it's a scary time for us with his surgery just around the corner.
Lady Amazon has offered to help collect the funds for her so please
anyone who's able and willing to help her out no matter how small
please yell at her or me. You're welcome to email me privately as well
as check my group for updates on her.
She and he were talking last Tuesday and he just fell in the floor with
heart failure. He was a really nice guy and truly devoted to her and
very proud of her for wrestling.
Please do consider helping her out. It is a very stressful time for
her and she's just letting money worries drive herself crazy. My group is
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/PattiPowersII/
Thanks, Patti Powers"
These ladies wrestle for the love of the sport. Their world is like that of Mildred Burke and the great classic ladies, not the WWE's Trish and Candice.
They love what they do and we love what they do.
So if anyone can do anything, even if its just sending out a call for help like this, please contact Patti at her group and let her know.
Thank you,

Nickla Roberts - Baby Doll
Ring name(s) Andrea the Lady Giant, Baby Doll
Billed height 5 ft. 10 in.
Billed weight 195 lb.
Born February 13, 1962
Lubbock, Texas
Resides Joplin, Missouri
Trained by Nick Roberts, Loraine Johnson,Jake Roberts,Nelson Royal
Debut 1984
Nickla Roberts is the daughter of wrestlers Nick Roberts and Lorraine Johnson.
She was always a strong and hefty woman.
Nickla held school records at her high school for shotput which, according to Jim Cornette, have not been broken.
Nickla started in wrestling in the Texas area in 1984 as "Andrea, the Lady Giant". She would destroy men and women in the ring and wore her hair in a punk rock type style, leather pants and jacket, Aerosmith and Motley Crue scarves and T-Shirts, metal studded belts and spiked dog collar and wristbands.
She quit that gimmick and showed up in the NWA's Jim Crockett Promotions in 1985 and became the valet for Tully Blanchard. She was known as "The Perfect Ten", Baby Doll. She assisted Blanchard in his feuds against Dusty Rhodes and Magnum T.A..
In 1986, Blanchard added James J. Dillon to manage him and was on the verge of forming the original Four Horsemen. Tully publicly fired her and to get heat slapped her down. Dusty Rhodes came to the rescue and she helped Dusty Rhodes feud with the Horsemen. Later in 1986, at a weekly Monday night TV taping in Greenville, S.C., Jim Cornette and Beautiful Bobby Eaton attacked her with the tennis racket. She returned with The Warlord to get revenge. He was green though, so he was sent away for more training after a brief feud with Big Bubba Rogers. During the 1986 Great American Bash, she teamed with several different wrestlers to battle against Cornette and his Midnight Express. Her team mates included Dusty Rhodes, Magnum T.A., Dick Murdoch, and the Legion of Doom, Hawk and Animal, the Road Warriors. August 1986, Baby Doll turned on Rhodes. During a World Title match in Charlotte, North Carolina, Baby Doll put the foot of Ric Flair on the rope to stop the 3 count. Dusty was in total disbelief of Baby Doll's actions. Flair took advantage of the stunned Rhodes and pinned him for the NWA World Title. After a brief run with Ric Flair, the Crockett booking office sent her to the Central States Territory. Nickla was sent away because of the bookers' (especially Dusty Rhodes) disapproval of her recent marriage to wrestler Sam Houston.
She left the NWA for the UWF in 1987 with her new husband, Sam Houston. She traveled the independents with Houston until her return to the NWA to work with the Living Legend Larry Zbyszko, whom she managed in a short feud with Barry Windham over the Western States Title. Baby Doll's marriage to Sam Houston again made her NWA return brief. The NWA office saw it as a conflict of interest. Baby Doll's husband was working for the rival WWF promotion.
Nickla gave birth to a daughter, Mikka Tyler (Smitty), in early 1991; a second daughter, Mikala Joy, came the following year. Baby Doll chose to devote her time to her new baby girls instead of returning to wrestling. She divorced Houston in 1994, claiming Houston wanted to "be the life of the party."
She returned for WrestleReunion in Tampa, Florida in 2005 to manage TNA Champion Jeff Jarrett in his successful title defense against Tully Blanchard.
