Female Wrestling - Sable / Rena Mero

Rena Mero Lesnar (born August 8th, 1967) is an American model, actress, and former professional wrestler. She is primarily known for her stints in World Wrestling Entertainment as the buxom Sable character.

Before gaining popularity in the world of sports entertainment, Mero worked as a model for L'Oréal, Pepsi, and Guess?. Along with her second husband Marc Mero, she began working for the World Wrestling Federation (WWF) in 1996. As Sable, she was one of the first WWE Divas, she gained considerable popularity, surpassing that of her husband. After feuding with both Luna Vachon and Jacqueline Moore, Sable became the second WWF Women's Champion after the title was reinstated into the company. After becoming a heel and leaving the company, Mero filed a $110 million lawsuit against the company, citing allegations of sexual harassment and unsafe working conditions.

In 2003, she returned to the newly renamed World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) where she was put into a storyline feud with Torrie Wilson, and another storyline as Vince McMahon's mistress. In 2004, she left the company to spend more time with her family. After leaving WWE, Mero married Brock Lesnar.

Outside of wrestling, Mero has been featured on the cover of Playboy three times. The April 1999 issue of the magazine with her on the cover was one of the highest selling issues in Playboy history. She has also guest starred on several television series, including Pacific Blue. She also appeared in the film Corky Romano.

Real Name: Sharmell Sullivan-Huffman
Born: November 2, 1974

Marital Status: Married to Booker T
Height & Weight: 5'7" - 127 lbs
Trained by: WCW Powerplant, OVW
Pro Wrestling Debut: 1998 (as Nitro Girl Storm)

Previous Gimmicks: Nitro Girl Storm, Nitro Girl Paisley, Sharmell, Queen Sharmell
Notable Feuds: Lea Meow, Tammy Sytch, Tygress, Torrie Wilson, Kurt Angle, Chris Benoit, The Boogeyman, Christian Cage (TNA)

Sharmell Sullivan-Huffman (born November 2, 1970) is an American professional wrestling valet currently working for TNA Wrestling. She is best known for her work with the WWE until her release in 2007. She first came to prominence in the wrestling world as a member of the WCW dance troupe the Nitro Girls.

Sullivan won the Miss Black America pageant in 1991. After winning the title, Sullivan began a career in professional dance, touring with several hip hop artists and R&B bands, including a 3½ year stint with James Brown.

Sullivan joined WCW 's Nitro Girl dance troupe in December 1998 under the name Storm. When the Nitro Girls began becoming more involved in WCW storylines, she was made the valet for The Artist, re dubbing herself Paisley (to match The Artist's Prince Gimmick). As Paisley, she made her in-ring singles debut against Tammy Lynn Sytch on the April 26, 2000 edition of WCW Thunder, winning with a DDT. Following The Artist's release from WCW, Sullivan began valeting for Kwee Wee. She also formed an alliance with fellow former Nitro Girl Tygress, and the two ladies frequently double-teamed the Misfits In Action's valet Major Gunns.

While in WCW, Sullivan was also a part of the pop music group Diversity 5 with other Nitro Girls Fyre, Spice, Chae, and Tygress. In 2001, when she signed with the WWF, she was replaced in the group by Chiquita Anderson (also a Nitro Girl).

In 2001, just before WCW was bought by the World Wrestling Federation (WWF), Sullivan was released from WCW and signed a developmental contract with WWF with the intent of becoming a full-time in-ring performer. She was sent to Ohio Valley Wrestling to continue her training, and was made the valet for The Suicide Blondes - wearing a blonde wig and using the name Sister Sharmell. She also made some appearances on the main roster show, SmackDown!, as a backstage interviewer using her real name. Her training, however, was cut short by a knee injury, and she subsequently retired from in ring work.

Amy Zidian - Female Wrestling

female wrestling

Wrestler Name: Amy Zidian
Real Name: Amy Zidian
Born: October, 1985, Orlando, Florida
Height & Weight: 5 ft 9 in
Trained by:OVW staff
Pro Wrestling Debut: 2006

Zidian participated in the WWE's 2006 WWE Diva Search, where she was the first competitor eliminated. Despite not winning the Diva Search contract she was hired by WWE and assigned to Ohio Valley Wrestling (OVW) to train, making her debut at the October 28, 2006 TV tapings in a "Halloween Costume Contest". At the same time she was competing in OVW she began appearing at Extreme Championship Wrestling house shows, replacing Rebecca DiPietro while she had to attend to personal problems. She then got transferred to the SmackDown! brand to act as valet for Jimmy Wang Yang, dressing in Daisy Dukes and adopting a "redneck" gimmick to fit with Yang and making her debut on the November 3, 2006 edition of the show.

Zidian was released from her WWE contract on December 13, 2006.
While some WWE releases are a product of creative having no ideas for the talent in question, Amy Zidian’s firing was purely the result of her own actions.

The first incident involved Zidian and WWE Diva Search winner Layla El. Zidian, who placed eighth in the contest, made a comment to Layla and asked if she was upset that the eighth place finisher was getting a push while the winner was “collecting dust.”

She also managed to upset fellow SmackDown! Diva Kristal by mocking her hair extensions.

But Zidian’s upsetting fellow WWE females did not end there. One of her most prominent incidents involved asking Vickie Guerrero how, based on her looks, she was able to get a job as a Diva for the company. Guerrero responded that since she is not pretty enough she should leave “your” (Amy’s) lockerroom.

The incident had far greater ramifications, though, as insulting Eddie Guerrero’s widow is not a move that would typically win one respect in the locker room. Although Zidian was sincere in her question (she truly did not know who Vickie Guerrero was nor how she became an on-air talent), her ignorance on the issue was not considered a valid excuse in the eyes of the wrestlers. There was actually a push to fire Zidian for that incident, but John Laurinaitis convinced WWE to give her another chance.

Following that incident, Stephanie McMahon attempted to give Zidian some advice on proper backstage behavior. Zidian, in front of a crowd backstage and with attitude in her voice, asked who she was to be giving out advice. Zidian’s reaction to Stephanie’s “revelation” of her identity was not described as apologetic, and her fate was, at that point, sealed.

Jimmy Wang Yang, for whom Zidian served as valet, had been distancing himself from the Diva backstage to avoid picking up her locker room heat. John Laurinaitis did not, however, avoid heat for the incidents as her call-up to SmackDown! was primarily his call.
