Mercedes Martinez - Women of Wrestling

One of the best Indy female wrestlers working today is Mercedes Martinez.
It's been a long while since I have done anything on this talented young lady, so let me fix that.

Mercedes was born on November 17th, 1980 in Waterbury, Connecticut.
"The Latina Sensation" was trained by Jason Knight and made her pro wrestling debut on November 12, 2000.
She has wrestled for tons of Indy wrestling promotions like Shimmer Women Athletes, World Xtreme Wrestling, Women Superstars Uncensored, Full Impact Pro, Defiant Pro Wrestling, Green Mountain Wrestling, Independent Wrestling Association Mid-South and many more.

Mercedes also wrestled a match for the WWE.
On June 12th, 2006, she took on Victoria on Sunday Night Heat.

And you may have seen her on Wrestlicious as the Bull Fighter "Maria Toro", managed by "Bandita."

Like I said earlier, Mercedes is one of the best, and you can tell that by looking at her list of wrestling moves...
Fisherman buster, The Chaos Theory, Brainbuster, 3 Amigas (2 Vertical supplexes and 1 German, Tribute to Eddie Guerrero), Multiple suplex variations including, German, Saito, Snap and Vertical, Snap swinging neckbreaker (sometimes delivered to an opponent hung on the top rope), Spinebuster, Butterfly Lock and an Avalanche Fisherman Buster that looks like it should cripple her opponent.

You know whats better than reading about these moves?
Seeing them.
Here is a video done by TheSuicidalDragon of "The Top Ten Moves of Mercedes Martinez"...

PWI Female 50 - The Independents

Pro Wrestling Illustrated just released their 2009 "PWI Female 50" list.
The top female wrestler as everyone probably knows by now is Mickie James.
But what about the Independent wrestlers?

Well I looked at the list and cut the WWE Divas and TNA Knockouts out (though to be really fair, a lot of the TNA Knockouts still do Indy shows but for this I took them out).
So after removing those wrestlers, we are left with this....

MsChif - Womens Pro Wrestling

1. MsChif
2. Sara Del Rey
3. Mercedes Martinez
4. Daizee Haze
5. Angel Orsini
6. Rain
7. Amber O'Neal
8. Jetta
9. Lufisto
10. Madison Eagles
11. Nevaeh
12. Wesna Busic
13. Portia Perez
14. Danyah
15. Ariel
16. Jennifer Blake
17. Nichole Matthews
18. Serena Deeb
19. Allison Danger

21. Lexie Fyfe
22. Jamie D
23. Amy Lee
24. Annie Social
25. April Hunter

Now if they will just do a Luchadora and Joshi PWI Female 50, I'll be happy.

The following month Martinez appeared on WWE's Heat (taped June 12) in a losing effort against Victoria.
