Why are former TNA Knockouts Angelina Love and Velvet Sky on this blog that is basically devoted to Old School wrestlers and Indy wrestlers?
Well until they sign with someone (probably the WWE) they are free agents.
Of course it wouldn't hurt me a bit to see them in the WWE as The Beautiful People again...well it would hurt me because I know the WWE would somehow take a sure thing like that and screw it up.
According to NorthEast Wrestling, Velvet and Angelina will be appearing at their "Wrestling Under The Stars" event on September 22nd, 2012.
You can find out more and get tickets here:
http://northeastwrestling.com/
And http://www.twnpnews.com/ is reporting that both Velvet and Angelina will be at Sideline Sports at the Middletown Market 128 Dolson Ave. Middletown, New York on October 7th from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m.
So I am happy they are appearing together and showing up at Indy pro wrestling promotions.

Ayumi Kurihara - Pro Wrestling
Today we have joshi puroresu star, Ayumi Kurihara.
No I didn't get confused and post an entry for my Japanese Womens Wrestling blog here.
Ayumi was born on July 13th, 1984 in Tokyo, Japan and was trained by Mariko Yoshida, AKINO, Michiko Ohmukai and GAMI.
She has been doing a lot of work here in the US, mainly for wrestling promotions like ROH (Ring of Honor), Shimmer Women Athletes and Jersey All Pro Wrestling.
Ayumi is not a stranger to rings outside of Japan anyway, since she has worked for Mexican wrestling promotions like CMLL where she often wrestles masked as AYUMI.

Taylor Made - Women of Wrestling
This lovely young lady is female wrestler Taylor Made.
Taylor is from POWW Entertainment in Illinois, where I believe she is the Queen of POWW, a title she won on March 18th, 2011 in Fox Lake Illinois.
POWW may sound familiar to you because that's where another female wrestler I have profiled on here before, Melanie Cruise, came from.
And the ring name "Taylor Made" might sound familiar to some of you "old timers" out there, because that's the name that Terri Poch (also known as Tori and Terri Power) used back in 1988 when she debuted.
Besides POWW, this Taylor has also worked for wrestling promotions like 3XW Wrestling, Magnificent Ladies’ Wrestling, IWA Wrestling and Shimmer Womens Wrestling.
Taylor is five foot six, 120 pounds and made her pro wrestling debut in July of 2009.
Here is Taylor taking on Melanie Cruise at 3XW...

Leva Bates - Women of Wrestling
Leva Bates is so cool.
I have seen pictures of her at comic book conventions, dressed up as superheroes and anime charcters.
She's like a female Indy wrestler version of the Hurricane, only better.
Leva is five foot two, 120 pounds and she's from Gotham City (?) Florida.
(Really she's from Madisonville, Kentucky)
She was trained by Team 3D Academy and made her pro wrestling debut in March 0f 2007 and has worked for a ton of wrestling promotions like SHIMMER, Full Impact Pro, Coastal Championship Wrestling, Pro Wrestling Fusion and World Xtreme Wrestling.
Though she was never on the TNA roster, she did show up on TNA during Awesome Kong’s $25,000 Challenge.
And here's the video from March 29th, 2008 of Leva taking on Kong...

Cookie - Becky Bayless - TNA
One of the most unfortunate things TNA has done recently is the Robbie E and Cookie thing.
Now I love Becky Bayless, and I am sure Rob Eckos is a fine wrestler, but why did TNA have to bring them in and turn them into "Jersey Shore" clones?
Really, this goes back to the old WWF, and not the cool fun part either.
I suppose this is TNA's way of trying to pull in the MTV fan base.
I'm guessing next will be a Sheldon and Leonard tag team ripping off Big Bang Theory (hey...it's popular!) and maybe a vampire/werewolf tag team to get the Twilight fan base.
The sad thing is that like I mentioned earlier, I really like Becky.
Most people think of her as a valet/announcer/interviewer, but she has gotten in quite a bit of ring time.
Back in 2008, Pro Wrestling Illustrated (PWI) ranked Becky as number 37 in the best 50 female singles wrestlers and she once held the Texas Wrestling Entertainment (TWE) Texas Ladies Championship.
She has worked (as a wrestler) for wrestling promotions Ring of Honor (ROH), Wrestling Superstars Unleashed (WSU), Women Superstars Uncensored and on Wrestlicious (as Brooke Lynn) she took part in the "Hoedown Throwdown" (sigh) twenty girl battle royal.
I don't see why TNA didn't just get Becky some wrestling gear and put her in the ring as a Knockout and not have to resort to this MTV ripoff stuff.
MTV and wrestling doesn't mix.
Remember Wrestling Society X?
One of the more embarrassing moments as JWoww From Jersey Shore faces off with Cookie on TNA iMPACT....
Even though I don't like Cookie, I still love me some Becky, and you can see her live on Saturday, December 18th at CWF Mid-Atlantic’s anniversary event “Battlecade XI”.
ArenaChicks will have her there for a special autograph andphotograph session.

Sara Jay Wrestling Savannah Summers
Australian female wrestler Sara Jay
One of the most popular female wrestlers on this blog is without a doubt, Aussie wrestler Sara Jay.
Here is a video from 2007 posted by CurtRVile of Sara taking on fellow Aussie Savannah Summers at Reanimated 07, an event put on by Australian wrestling promotion Riot City Wrestling.
Australian Female Wrestler Savannah Summers
Of course we have discussed Sara here before.
Her opponent Savannah Summers has worked with Riot City Wrestling since it began in 2006 and has taken on some ladies you might be familiar with like Jessie McKay, Madison Eagles and Kelly Skater among others.
In the comments at YouTube, CurtRVile apologizes for the shaky cam, explaining it was his first time filming an event inside the barricade.
Except for a few "Cloverfield moments", I think he did really well.
You can see more videos by CurtRVile here:

You can find out more about Savannah Summers here:

More On Serena Deeb
Serena Deeb has had a pretty long and colorful career as a female wrestler.
I did a write up on her back in March of 2008, when everyone knew her as Serena Deeb, but now you may be more familiar with her as Mia Mancini, Serena Mancini or just Serena, a member of CM Punk’s “Straight Edge Society” group along with Luke Gallows.
And as you probably know, she shaved her head on her WWE TV debut on January 22, 2010, as part of Punk’s crusade to get people into the straight edge lifestyle.
But before Serena went all "Molly Holly" on us, she was a respected Indy wrestler.
One of the wrestling rumors is that the reason Serena was moved up to the main roster was that she was willing to shave her head.
That showed Brand loyalty.
Before moving up to the WWE main roster, she wrestled at Florida Championship Wrestling, where she was the Queen of FCW, before finally loosing the crown (literally) to AJ Lee.
She was the Memphis Championship Wrestling, MCW Women's Champion once, the NWA France Women's Champion and the Ohio Valley Wrestling Women's Champion six times.
Serena also worked for Shimmer Women Athletes, Ring of Honor, did an appearance on TNA Wrestling (as part of Awesome Kong's $25,000 Fan Challenge), did some work for Pro Wrestling Syndicate, when to France to wrestle for the International Catch Wrestling Alliance and worked for American Wrestling Rampage.
Actually what got me thinking about Serena was me running across this match posted by HybridDolphinELPS on YouTube of "Mia" Mancini taking on WWE Diva Gail Kim.
Usually Hybrid gets mentioned on my Joshi blog, but this was too good to pass up.
And no, I am not switching my focus off the Indy female wrestlers, it's just that Serena is one of the ladies that has worked her way up through the ranks.
I just hope she isnt wasted with the WWE like a lot of other good female talent is.

Female Wrestling - Krissy Vaine
It's been a long time (since 2007 actually) that I have done anything on female pro wrestler Krissy Vaine.
And that's a shame too, since Krissy (Kristin Eubanks) was born only a few miles from where I grew up in NC!
Krissy made her pro wrestling debut back in 2003 as Special K.
But before that, she had been a manager since 2000.
She has worked for wrestling promotions like CWF Mid Atlantic, Professional Girl Wrestling Association, Women Extreme Wrestling, Memphis Wrestling, the National Wrestling Alliance and Shimmer Women Athletes.
In 2006 she signed a developmental contract with the WWE and went to Deep South Wrestling.
She had a pretty good run there, becoming the "General Manager for DSW".
While she was there, she had a feud with Angel Williams (who you may know better as TNA Knockout Angelina Love) and was in DSW at the same time as Nattie Neidhart (Natalya), Brooke Adams, Tracy Taylor and Shantelle Taylor (Taylor Wilde).
Krissy only appeared on SmackDown! once, attacking Torrie Wilson after her match with Victoria.
Sadly, she and her boyfriend Ryan O'Reilly left the WWE the next month.
Krissy is still wrestling on the Indy circuit and is also a writer for Diva Dirt.
She has her own podcast there called The Krissy Vaine Project.
If you want to keep up with Krissy you can catch her at Diva Dirt:
http://www.diva-dirt.com/
Or her Twitter account:
http://twitter.com/krissyvaine13
After all this time, I still think she is one of the prettiest women in Pro wrestling!

Wrestlicious - Wrestling News and Rumors
Here is the latest video for the upcoming Wrestlicious female wrestling show.
(By the way Wrestlicious people, many thanks for allowing embedding so that we can help spread the word.)
Even though they dont as of yet have a distributor, they have built up a presense on the web.
They have a MySpace page:
http://www.myspace.com/wrestliciousbaby
(I'm in their top forty friends! Go me!)
A Facebook page:
http://www.facebook.com/pages/Wrestlicious/144824402691
And a Twitter account:
http://twitter.com/Wrestlicious1
And of course their own YouTube channel:
http://www.youtube.com/user/WrestliciousBaby
(Yes JV Rich I am giving you all kinds of free PR here...LOL)
Without a network deal (Fox was mentioned in the beginning stages of the promotion, but it looks like that is gone now) it looks like Wrestlicious' best bet is syndication.
Why not?
That's what made GLOW a cult hit.
And you have to look at this as a reboot in a way.
I almost wish they could have gotten the rights to the original GLOW characters and actually made the show a reboot of GLOW.
But hey, you dont get famous by just reusing the other guys ideas do you?
(Okay...I know, don't tell the motion picture industry that)
The upside of Wrestlicious is that from what I have seen of their roster, most (if not all) of their wrestlers can really...ummm...wrestle.
(Side note here, could Wrestlicious please put out an actual roster list so I don't have to keep guessing?)
That puts them ahead of one of the "other" major wrestling promotions.
And it gives lots of Indy female wrestlers a chance to shine.
So I'll be watching the show when it comes out for that reason if nothing else.

Female Wrestling - Sara Jay
I don't know if Sara Jay took the snake to the ring ala Jake Roberts, or if this is just a promo for Snakepit Pro Wrestling...
We seem to have an influx of Australian female wrestlers on here, and here is another, Sara Jay.
This beautiful young lady was born on May 11th in Warwick, Australia.
She may only stand 5 feet tall and weigh in at 110 pounds, but this is a lot of fight in her, as she takes on both female and male wrestlers.
Sara has held the WCWA Junior Girls Championship, the MIW Womens belt, the NAW Womens Championship and the WWC Womens title.
She has worked for Riot City Wrestling, PWWA, Ultimate Wrestling Alliance, PWA QLD, Snakepit Pro Wrestling, PWA Elite, MIW, Nightmare Wrestling, IWA, PWA Underground and AAW in Australia and World Wrestling Council in Puerto Rico.

Sara Del Rey, Update
I haven't done anything on female wrestler Sara Del Rey since 2007.
Allow me to correct that.
Sara was born on November 13, 1980 in Martinez, California.
This hard working young lady has wrestled for SHIMMER Women Athletes, Mexico's Lucha Libre Femenil, IWA Mid-South, Ring of Honor, All Pro Wrestling, CHIKARA , Ohio, Championship Wrestling, Canadian Wrestling Revolution, Impact Zone Wrestling, Pure Wrestling Association and under a mask as Nic Grimes for MTV's Wrestling Society X.
During her career she has held the Shimmer Championship, the PWA Tag Team titles with Juan Ortiz, the OCW Women's Championship, the CWR Women's Championship and the IZW Women's Championship.
Sara won the Best ROH Female Wrestler award from Online World of Wrestling in 2008, AND came in number one on the Wrestling Clothesline list of Independent Women Wrestlers in 2008.

Lady Victoria - Female Wrestling
Not to be confused with the luchadora, this Lady Victoria was trained by Al Snow at Bodyslammers in Lima, Ohio and Johnny Rayz.
She's wrestled all over North America, including working for wrestling promotions like WWA, Hoosier Pro Wrestling, Pro Wrestling Canada and Xtreme Pro Wrestling.
Lady Victoria has also wrestled in Japan for Michinoku Pro Wrestling and Neo Japanese Ladies.
She's faced some popular female wrestlers in the ring like Angel Williams (TNA Knockout Angelina Love), Vanessa Harding, Fantasia, Louise Lockwood, Bobcat, Helena Heavenly and Malia Hosaka.
And she's not afraid of mixed wrestling at all, climbing into the wrestling ring with the big boys as well.
Lady Victoria has held several titles including the NWA Michigan Champion, she was the "Big Time Wrestling" Ladies Champion, the IWI Ohio Champion and the RAW Ohio TV Champion.
Besides wrestling, she appeared on the Jenny Jones talk show three times.
Lady Victoria has her own YouTube channel

Vanessa Kraven - Women's Pro Wrestling
You know I cant believe I havent done a write up on this lady before.
Now this is someone I'd love to see in TNA or the WWE.
Since she can actually wrestle, TNA seems more likely though.
Vanessa Kraven was born on February 10, 1982 in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.
She is a pro wrestler who wrestles for mainly North American independent promotions although she has also wrestled a lot in Japan.
Vanessa was trained by Ron Hutchinson in Toronto at Sully's Gym, the NCW wrestling school and Zaquary Springate III in the United States.
She made her pro wrestling debut in April 2004.
Vanessa has worked for a ton of wrestling promotions including Battle Angels, Blood Sweat and Ears, Elite Wrestling Revolution, IWA Mid-South, the International Wrestling Syndicate and Northern Championship Wrestling (NCW).
In Japan she has worked for Kyoko Inoue's NEO Japan Ladies, JWP Project, Pro Wrestling WAVE, JDStar/Kakutobi and Emi Sakura's Ice Ribbon.
Vanessa has held the Battle Angels Women's Championship and the NCW Women's Wrestling Championship.
At 6 feet tall and 190 pounds, she has a formidable ring presence to say the least.

Sexy Juliette "The Huntress" - Female Wrestling
I ran across Juliette while looking for info on female wrestling in the World Wrestling Council (WWC).
This 5'5, 125 pound beauty from Chicago made her pro wrestling debut in mid 2005 for the WWC.
She has been a wrestler and a valet.
In the ring she's gone up against Genesis, Amazona, Black Rose, Sweet Nancy, Killer Kat, Great Cheyenne and Faith.
Besides WWC, she has wrestled for International Wrestling Association (IWA), CWF, XWE, NWG, NRW, AAW, UWC and the IWC promotions.
Her favorite wrestling moves are the huracanrana from the top rope, the cazadora bulldog, the flashback, the northern lights suplex and the cross-body from top rope to the outside.
And her finisher is the "Huntress DDT".
Juliette is a free agent and is available for wrestling bookings.

Danyah - Canadian professional wrestler
I did an entry back in 2007 on Danyah, so I thought I'd do a little update.
Canadian professional wrestler, Danyah Rivietz was born on February 25 (????) in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
See? I swear there is some kind of genetic research going on in Canada producing superhumans!
Anyway, Danyah has wrestled for SHIMMER, Great Canadian Wrestling, Pro Wrestling Xtreme and Pure Wrestling Association wrestling promotions.
As you can tell by her sleek, muscled build, before wrestling she was into kickboxing and fitness.
She was trained by the Squared Circle Pro Wrestling facility (Rob Fuego) and the Devine Dungeon (Johnny Devine) and made her pro wrestling debut on May 15, 2005.
During her wrestling career she has had wrestling matches with 21st Century Fox, Nattie Neidhart, April Hunter, Cherry Bomb, Becky Bayless, Nikki Roxx and Malia Hosaka among many others.

CZW Wrestling - Female Wrestling
Combat Zone Wrestling or CZW Wrestling is a, to put it mildly, brutal promotion.
So why put it here on a blog about female wrestling?
Because one of CZW's most brutal titles, the CZW Iron Man Championship was once held by a woman.
Yes, Geneviève (Genny) Goulet better known by Indy wrestling fans as LuFisto actually held the CZW Iron Man Championship.
On August 12, 2006 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, LuFisto pinned Kevin Steen in an "All Out War" barbed wire steel cage elimination match at Trapped to become the first ever female CZW Iron Man Champion.
Unlike the way the WWE have women win titles by flukes, Lufisto not only won the belt straight up, but held it for 154 days.
And her reign may have been longer, but she had to vacate the title due to a back injury.

She is an American professional wrestler currently working for TNA Wrestling under the ring name Velvet Sky. Outside of TNA Wrestling, she wrestles as Talia Madison.
Szantyr got her wrestling training at Jason Knight's "House of Pain Pro Wrestling Dojo". On the independent circuit, she formed a tag team known as T and A with April Hunter. She was booked to her first wrestling championship during her time in World Xtreme Wrestling, getting the WXW Women's Championship after winning a battle royal on May 29, 2004.
She made a few appearances in the WWE in 2005 and 2006.On the February 24, 2005 edition of WWE SmackDown!, she appeared as an extra during the JBL "Celebration of Excellence" party. On January 2, 2006, she and Trinity were planted in the front row of the audience to be selected to dance with The Heart Throbs after their match in another HEAT segment. She also auditioned for the 2007 Diva Search, but did not make the final eight. Szantyr later admitted that WWE wanted her to physically enhance her body, which was the reason she chose to go to TNA.
As Talia Madison, she held Defiant Pro Wrestling Women's title, which she got on April 8, 2006 after defeating Alere Little Feather and Nikki Roxx in a three-way match. She also wrestled in Women's Extreme Wrestling as Talia Doll, where she and April Hunter held the WEW Tag Team titles. She began her wrestling career in the independent Californian circuit in 1986. After making her pro debut, she was signed to the Ladies Professional Wrestling Association (LPWA) . She faced Chigusa Nagayo at the Big Egg Wrestling Universe show at the Tokyo Dome on November 20, 1994. She won the IWA World Women's Championship on May 15, 1995, defeating Manami Toyota. At the time, Toyota also held the WWWA World Heavyweight Championship, the most prestigious title in Japanese women's wrestling, although that title was not on the line in that match. She lost the IWA belt later in 1995 to Takako Inoue. Bennett also had small roles in a number of films, first appearing in Spacehunter: Adventures in the Forbidden Zone (1983). She also had a cameo role in the Sylvester Stallone film Over the Top (1987).
