Kim Neilson AKA Desire

Kim Neilson AKA Desire

Another of the most popular women here on this blog is Kim Neilson AKA Desire.
Well she has been "AKA" quite a bit during her wrestling career such as Jekyl Island, Miss Galaxy, Kim Neilson, Every Man's Desire and just plain Desire.
Since she is so popular, here are a couple of matches from her TNA days....

Here is Desire taking on April Hunter (with Athena) posted by Athena herself on YouTube.
If you think TNA just started hiring hot women that can wrestle, this match is from January 15th, 2003.

And proving my point even further, here is the last bit of a match with Kid Kash and Trinity (with Athena) wrestling Sonny Siaki & Desire

Desire, April Hunter, Athena, Trinity?
Somebody stop me before I start ranting about the "good old days".

Juliette The Huntress - Ivelisse Velez, Goes to the WWE

Juliette The Huntress - Ivelisse Velez,Goes to the WWE

Now this is the kinda thing that makes me feel good.
Back in February of 2009 I did an article on an indy wrestler in the World Wrestling Council (WWC) in Puerto Rico called Juliette "The Huntress".
I kept track of Juliette and even did an interview with her here.

Now I find out that Juliette (whose real name is Ivelisse Velez) appeared on WWE's Tough Enough and has been signed to a developmental contract with them.
Yeah I have my problems with the WWE, but I am happy to see someone I have followed make it into the "Major Leagues".
I'm also happy to see the WWE hire someone with wrestling talent!
I imagine first we will see her in FCW, then move up to Smackdown or Raw.

I just hope she gets to wear her old "Elektra" style outfit.
I really liked that.

Indy Female Wrestlers Dominate the PWI Top 50

Indy Female Wrestlers Dominate the PWI Top 50

 Madison Eagles

You know I haven't even mentioned the PWI Top 50 Women’s Wrestlers Of 2011 list here this year, even though it came out back in September.
One thing I think is quite notable is that out of the 50 female wrestlers on the list, 30 are not WWE or TNA, but Indy workers.
You have to take into account that the WWE Diva roster (including FCW) is 21 women and the TNA Knockout roster is 13, so even if every one of the Divas and Knockouts made the list, they would still have to fill it with 16 wrestlers to get their 50.
But, a lot of the Indy performers are near the top.
Women like Madison Eagles (who came in 1st), Mercedes Martinez (2) Cheerleader Melissa and MsChif all made it into the top ten.
Despite not getting the wide exposure that the WWE and TNA offers, 8 of the top twenty were women that worked for indy wrestling promotions.
Here is the list with the rankings minus the Divas and Knockouts....

1. Madison Eagles
2. Mercedes Martinez
6. Cheerleader Melissa
