Rusty Blair - Womens Wrestling UK

Classic UK women's wrestler Rusty Blair.
Rusty was from Scotland and stood 5'9.

She was active in the 1970s and 1980s but is retired now.
Although she was usually a "face", she did quite well for herself as a "heel".

Lisa Fury - Womens Wrestling UK

Born on November 24, 1982 in Liverpool, England, the beautiful Lisa Fury has been wrestling since 2002.
But I could have sworn it was longer than that.
Well...it has been 12 years so.....
Anyway, Lisa was trained by Robbie Brookside and Alex Shane.
But before she even started her wrestling training she studied Ju-Jitsu.

Lisa Fury - English Female Professional Wrestlers

Even though she has wrestled in Europe for All Star Wrestling, Nu-Wrestling Evolution, Independent Wrestling Federation and several other Indy promotions, you may have seen her here in the States on WWE SmackDown back in 2009 as Lisa Taylor in a match against Beth Phoenix.

Erin Angel - Womens Wrestling UK

Despite the fact that here in the States we never hear anything about them until they get over here, Britain has a really good female wrestling scene.
And they have for quite a while.
Here we have had Jeannie Clark (okay...she was a valet and manager), Layla El, Paige and her mother Sweet Saraya, Katarina Waters (aka Katie Lea and Winter), Erin Angel, The Blossom Twins and probably more I am forgetting.

Erin Angel - English Female Professional Wrestlers

So I thought I would do some entries on some of these lovely female wrestlers from across the pond (and over here) starting with the four foot eleven knockout Erin Angel.
Erin Marshall was born on March 16th, 1987 in Southampton, England.

Erin debuted in 2003 and this little girl holds victories over some of the best including a win over Klondyke Kate, who weighs in at 322 pounds.
Okay she won by disqualification, but it's still pretty impressive.

Taeler Hendrix Vs. Jessie Belle Smothers

Yeah I know it sounds stereotypical, but when two redheads go at it...you know it's gonna hit the fan.
And that's just what is going on here with Taeler Hendrix and Jessie Belle Smothers

Magnificent Mimi vs Bambi - Womens Pro Wrestling

Saw this picture of Magnificent Mimi (Mimi Lesseos) getting read the riot act by Bambi (Selena Majors).
I really wish Mimi had become more popular.
She was a great performer.
Just look at the expression on her face there...

Magnificent Mimi vs Bambi

She looks like she is incredibly pleased with herself over something she has done.
Most likely something dirty and underhanded.
I don't know who the blond in the picture is....maybe Brandi Mae (Trudy Adams)?

Magnificent Mimi vs Malia Hosaka...almost perfection.....

More Female Wrestler Reggie Bennett

Yes here is some more of retired female wrestler Reggie Bennett.
Hey....I just like her...okay?
Maybe it's because she was born five days before me.
Really...she was...
Or maybe it's the way she could just keep changing her body type.
Here she is "thick".....

And here she is as the cover model of the January 1984 issue of Fit Magazine...

And here she is doing full on posing...

Now that is pretty impressive.

That cover was shot two years before she debuted for the Independent Wrestling Federation in California.
Reggie retired in 2001 and her last match was against the legendary Manami Toyota in Japan.

Jessie McKay - Australian Female Wrestler

It's been a pretty good while since I did anything on the beautiful Jessie McKay, so here she is.
This five foot ten inch 132 pound Australian wrestling beauty was trained by Ryan Eagles and his wife Madison Eagles and made her pro wrestling debut in 2007.
Since then she has worked for Combat Zone Wrestling, CHIKARA, New Horizon Pro Wrestling, SHIMMER and SHINE Wrestling.

Female Wrestling - The Octopus Hold

AJ Lee's "Black Widow" hold has been getting a lot of attention since she started using it.
It's kind of odd to see a female wrestler use a submission hold as a finisher.
At least in the WWE and TNA.
Of course in MMA, the Indies, Japan and Mexico not so much.
The Black Widow is pretty much a modified Octopus hold.

That hold was made popular in Japan by the legendary Antonio Inoki.
Over there it is called the manji-gatame (inverted swastika hold).

Wikipedia describes the hold like this:
"The wrestler stands behind the opponent and hooks a leg over the opponent's opposite leg. The wrestler then forces the opponent to one side, traps one of the opponent's arms with their own arm, and drapes their free leg over the neck of the opponent, forcing it downward. This elevates the wrestler and places all the weight of the wrestler on the opponent. The wrestler has one arm free, which can be used for balance."

Like I said, AJ is using it a lot.
But wait until the WWE Divas figure out that there is a roll over/leglock counter to the move.

Yeah guys get it too.
Here is Candice LeRae trying to force Brent Banks to submit.
