WWE Diva Flashback - Maria

Okay, Maria may not have been the best female wrestler the WWE ever had.
But she was one of the prettiest.
And she was a good actress.
And one of the best female "Jobbers" ever in the female roster.

WWE Diva Flashback - Maria

And though Maria has left the WWE, she hasn't left wrestling.
She is still going at it.
Maria has worked for Ring of Honor, Family Wrestling Entertainment (Where she was the FWE Women's Champion twice) and Chikara as the valet of her real-life boyfriend Mike Bennett.

Jazz - Carlene Begnaud, Part 2

wwe, wwe divas, female wrestling, women wrestling, wrestling women, women of wrestling
Jazz returned in early 2003 and involved herself in the feud between Stratus and Victoria. During this time, she took on the managerial services of Teddy Long which led to another WWE Women's Championship reign after defeating Stratus at Backlash 2003. She kept the title for several months but once more was forced to drop the title due to injury, losing it in a battle royal to Gail Kim on June 20, 2003.

She returned from injury in early 2004 but for the most part, she mostly wrestled on Sunday Night HEAT and did not take part in any major feuds. Later that year, she became manager and valet for her real-life husband Rodney Mack before being released by the WWE on November 4, 2004.

From January 16, 2005 she started working on the independent circuit, and even appeared at the unofficial ECW reunion show, Hardcore Homecoming. In late 2005, Jazz and Rodney Mack opened Dirtysouth Championship Wrestling, an independent promotion based in Louisiana were Jazz won the new DCW Louisiana State Title on June 3, 2006.

Jazz also went on to perform in Women's Extreme Wrestling, where she won the company's World Heavyweight Championship in May 2005 in a Fatal Four M'enage Quatro Match against Angel Orsini, Mercedes Martinez, and Simply Luscious when the previous champion, Tai "Killer Weed", was forced to relinquish the title due to an injury. While still WEW champion, on June 24, 2005, Jazz would defeat April Hunter to win NWA Cyberspace's Women's championship.

On May 4, 2006, it was confirmed on WWE's official website that Jazz would be a part of the new ECW brand. Jazz would make her first appearance as part of the new ECW during the WWE vs. ECW Head to Head show on June 7, 2006 where she would face the WWE Women's Champion Mickie James in a losing effort, However, Jazz would not continue an on-screen role in the brand and only made a few appearances at ECW house shows before returning to Dirtysouth Championship Wrestling in September. Though in ECW, she stayed under contract with WWE until January 18, 2007 when she, along with her husband and several other wrestlers were released by WWE.

Jazz - Carlene Begnaud, Part 1

Wrestler: Jazz
Real Name: Carlene Moore Begnaud
Birthday: August 27, 1976
Hometown: New Orleans, LA
Marital Status: Married to Rodney Begnaud
Height & Weight: 5'4" - 140 lbs.
Trained by: Rod Price
Wrestling Debut: 1998
Previous Gimmicks: Jasamine
Finishing Move: The Bitchlock ,STF
Favorite Moves: Jazz Stinger,Jazz Stretch,DDT,Bitch Clamp,Fisherman Buster,Running Splash,Sitout Over Shoulder Powerslam
Notable Feuds: Jason,Francine,Trish Stratus,Victoria

Carlene Moore Begnaud is better known as Jazz. She is an American professional wrestler and former WWE Diva who has previously worked for the original ECW and WWE's RAW and ECW brands

She was approached about training to become a wrestler and went to a wrestling school in Louisiana run by Rod Price and had her first wrestling match against Jacqueline. Moore was just six-months into her training with Rod Price when she got a job with Extreme Championship Wrestling.

Considered one of the first female wrestlers to thrive in a male-dominated company lacking an active Women's Division (along the lines of Chyna in the WWF and Madusa in WCW), Jazzmyn (as she was then known) was a part of a tight-knit group, consisting of then up-and-coming superstars such as Jason and Justin Credible. She would later become pushed around because of her gender, leading to a feud with Jason. In most occassions in facing Jason, she won emphatically, and would continue to be a regular face in ECW. She would appear on a random basis before leaving the company for good in early 2000, just under a year before ECW was shut down due to bankruptcy.

Having worked a number of house shows as try-outs during 2001, in September of that year Moore, now wrestling as Jazz, signed a two-year contract with the World Wrestling Federation. She made her formal debut in the company at the Survivor Series pay per view in a Six-Pack Challenge Match for the WWF Women's Championship which had been vacated by Chyna after her departure from the company. Ultimately, Trish Stratus came away with the victory and the championship that night but, several weeks later Jazz brutally attacked Stratus and Mighty Molly during a title defense. This led to a vicious feud between Stratus and Jazz which led to Jazz defeating Stratus on the February 4, 2002 edition of RAW to win her first Women's Championship.

The feud went on for several months with Jazz making successful title defenses against Stratus, Lita and Ivory. However due to injury, Jazz dropped the title back to Stratus in a Hardcore-Rules match on the May 13, 2002 edition of RAW, which also involved Bubba Ray Dudley and Steven Richards.

Gladys Wall also known as Gladys "Kill 'Em" Gillem (born January 6th, 1921) is a retired professional wrestler. She currently resides in Pensacola, Florida.

Gillem began her wrestling career in 1942 at the age of nineteen in carnival shows. Besides wrestling men and women Gillem would wrestle bears and alligators as part of her act.

Gillem would eventually find work touring with promoter Billy Wolfe's troop of women wrestlers. In this stage of her career Wolfe used Gillem exclusively as a jobber. She would act in this capacity until her retirement in 1962. After leaving wrestling Gladys Gillem would go on to become a lion tamer.

Gladys Gillem gained additional notability when she was one of the focal interviewees for Lipstick and Dynamite, Piss and Vinegar: The First Ladies of Wrestling, a documentary about the early days of women's wrestling in North America.

"Killem Gillem" named their band after one of the first female wrestlers, Gladys "Killem” Gillem. Not only was Killem Gillem a female wrestler, but she was also a lion tamer and an alligator wrestler as well. The band Killem Gillem formed in the summer of 1997, after the demise of a band called Out Of Order. The lead singer of both bands, Shawn McCoy aka Beaver, is the proud grandson of Gladys “Killem” Gillem.

Nidia Lynnette Guenard (born March 12, 1979) better known as Nidia is a former professional wrestler who worked for World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE). She, along with Maven Huffman, won WWE's first series of Tough Enough, receiving a year-long contract with the company. She is also the sister of female wrestler Lourdes Guenard.

Guenard graduated from J Frank Dobie high school in Houston, Texas. Other former notable Dobie alumni are: The Undertaker (who attended freshman-junior years before moving to Dallas, and still holds school weightlifting records); two members of techno group Fear 2 Stop; and former major league relief pitcher Shane Nance.[citation needed]

Although performing as an exotic dancer before she became a wrestler, Guenard turned down a Playboy shoot in late 2003

She stayed with the company for two years after her Tough Enough contract expired, but was released on November 3, 2004 along with Gail Kim and Chuck Palumbo. Although not featured in any of the PS2 WWE games, she did appear in two Xbox WWE games; WWE RAW 2 & WWE WrestleMania 21.

After being released by WWE, Nidia wrestled in many independent promotions and tours including Kishi's Nu-Wrestling Evolution in Italy and Ultimo Dragon's Toryumon Mexico.

Although WWE management considered rehiring her in mid-2006, those plans fell through. Nidia then decided to hang up her wrestling gear for the foreseeable future.

During a recent interview, Nidia stated she is settling with her current partner in Italy, teaching yoga classes, and gave birth to their daughter Lilith Fae Dal Bosco in April 2007.

 Daffney - Female Wrestling

Shannon Claire Spruill (born July 17th, 1975) is an American professional wrestler and valet. She is perhaps best known for her appearances with World Championship Wrestling between 1999 and 2001 under the ring name Daffney.

A "military brat", Spruill was born in an United States Air Force base in Wiesbaden, Germany where her father was stationed. In 1976 the family returned to the United States, residing first in Salt Lake City, Utah, then in Savannah, Georgia and finally on the Scott Air Force Base in St. Clair County, Illinois. They later relocated to Oxford, England for three years, before moving to the Ramstein Air Base in Germany until 1987, when her father, by then a Lieutenant Colonel, retired.

Spruill graduated from Georgia State University in March 1998 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Film and Video production, with minors in Acting and Music. She went on to work in Media Production before becoming an actress. In November 1999 she responded to a World Championship Wrestling contest looking to acquire new talent, and was hired.

In WCW, Spruill played Daffney, the mentally deranged, besotted girlfriend of David Flair, managing him and Crowbar. The gimmick was based in part on Mallory Knox, the character played by Juliette Lewis in the film Natural Born Killers. Spruill's first appearance was on the December 6 episode of Nitro, when she was shown sitting on her bed and chanting Flair's name.

On May 15, 2000 Spruill and Crowbar defeated WCW Cruiserweight Champion Chris Candido and his girlfriend Tammy Lynn Sytch in an mixed tag team match and were declared co-champions. The following week on the May 22 episode of Nitro, Crowbar and Spruill faced one another to determine the undisputed Cruiserweight Champion. Crowbar held back during the match, but still dominated the smaller Spruill. After Candido entered the ring and hit Crowbar with a sitout piledriver, Spruill inadvertently pinned him while trying to revive him and thus became the second woman ever to hold the Cruiserweight Championship. Her reign lasted until June 7 when Lieutenant Loco pinned Disco Inferno in a triple threat title defence while Spruill was hurt following interference from Miss Hancock.

Spruill went on to feud with Hancock, who had stolen the affections of Flair, who had allegedly fathered Hanock's unborn child.

Daffney was notable for her constantly changing hair color, wide selection of T-Shirts with slogans on them, and her propensity to scream loudly and shrilly for no apparent reason. She began screaming at the suggestion of WCW writer Ed Ferrara. Though Spruill's somewhat gothic character earned her a small but loyal fanbase, she was released by WCW on February 2, 2001 due to budget cutbacks (WCW itself was purchased by its rival, the World Wrestling Federation, a month later).

 Daffney - Female Wrestling

Spruill opted to continue wrestling, attending Dusty Rhodes's Turnbuckle Championship Wrestling training camp in Kennesaw, Georgia for eight months. She made several appearances for the fledgling Total Nonstop Action Wrestling promotion in 2002 as Shannon and Shark Girl, and worked for Xtreme Pro Wrestling in 2003 as Lucy, the manager of Vic Grimes. She also appeared in Ring of Honor, where she debuted on April 26, 2003 as Lucy Furr ("Lucifer"), the valet of the Second City Saints.

In July 2003 Spruill was signed to a developmental deal by World Wrestling Entertainment. She worked in Ohio Valley Wrestling as the manager of Aaron Stevens until she was released on December 17, 2003. She retired from professional wrestling in 2004 following a knee injury, intending to focus on her acting career, and sold her wrestling boots to her then-roommate, Mickie James. While retired, Spruill worked as a personal trainer. In June 2005 she posed for a website owned and operated by wrestling divas Francine and Missy Hyatt.

In February 2006, Spruill returned to the independent circuit. Spruill debuted in Women's Extreme Wrestling on April 6, 2006 under the ring name Lucy Furr, acting as a lumberjill in a match between Amy Lee and Tai Killer Weed.

On June 2, 2006 in Irondale, Alabama, Spruill faced El Mexico for the NWA Wrestle Birmingham Junior Heavyweight Championship. With the help of her manager, Robert Fuller (who referred to Spruill as his "Million Dollar Baby"), Spruil defeated El Mexicano to win her third wrestling title.

In April 2007, Spruill debuted as Daffney for SHIMMER Women Athletes. She conducted an interview where she revealed her goal was to return to what she did from the beginning of her career, and that was to manage. Later that evening she would appear as the manager of the wrestler MsChif.

Amy Christine Dumas (born April 14, 1975) is an American professional wrestler better known by the ring name Lita, and lead singer of punk rock band The Luchagors.

Amy Dumas attended many different schools throughout her childhood and adolescent years, and managed to finish high school six months prior to graduation. She also studied Spanish for three years. She attended college at Georgia State University, where she majored in education .

Lita - Female Wrestling

Amy had always been an excellent swimmer and, as an early adult, she practiced judo competitively. Dumas played bass guitar in a band called 3 Card Trick and was a roadie for another band, Fifteen (sometimes mistakenly believed to be the band 7 Seconds because they were Amy's favorite band), for five years before becoming a wrestler. Dumas first became interested in wrestling after watching Mexican luchador Rey Mysterio, Jr. wrestle on an episode of World Championship Wrestling's WCW Monday Nitro alongside her then-boyfriend, who was an avid wrestling fan . She traveled to Mexico to learn how to wrestle and learn more about the sport and also encounter a huge assortment of wrestlers such as Yoshihiro Tajiri, Val Venis, Essa Rios, Super Crazy and Chris Jericho. As stated in her autobiography, Dumas financed her training by dancing in a club under the pseudonym Misty. During her stay in Mexico, Dumas trained under numerous wrestlers, including Kevin Quinn, Miguel Perez and Ricky Santana. Following the completion of her training, Dumas made several appearances with the Empresa Mexicana de la Lucha Libre, and spent ten days working for a promotion in Peru. Upon returning to the United States, Dumas began working as a valet on the independent circuit in such promotions as MCW under the ring name Angelica, at one point managing Christopher Daniels. In the spring of 1999, she was approached by Paul Heyman, the owner and booker of Extreme Championship Wrestling, then the third largest promotion in the United States. Dumas debuted in ECW as Miss Congeniality, the on-screen girlfriend of Danny Doring. Dumas later began using the name Angelica once again, and made her pay-per-view debut on July 18, 1999 at Heat Wave 1999.

Lita - Female Wrestling

Dumas was introduced to veteran wrestler Dory Funk, Jr. by ECW wrestler Rob Van Dam, and Funk invited her to attend his wrestling school, the Funkin' Conservatory. Dumas attended the school alongside 23 men, requesting that Funk treat her no differently from any other trainee. She graduated from the school in August 1999 and returned to ECW. In the meanwhile, Funk and his wife compiled video footage of Dumas and sent it to the World Wrestling Federation. The Federation was sufficiently impressed, and on November 1, 1999, Dumas was signed to a WWF developmental deal. She made her final appearance with ECW on October 23, 1999

Wrestler: Cora Combs
Real Name:Cora Svonsteckik
Hometown: Hazard, Kentucky
Previous Gimmicks: Lady Satan
Notable Feuds: Ann Regan,Adriana Ames

Born into a family of coal miners in Hazard, Kentucky on March 17, 1923, Cora Svonsteckik had plans to leave the Appalachian range known as the Great Smoky Mountains. While attending high school, she was a star on the girls' track team and won honors in the high jump category. When Svonsteckik graduated, she ventured to Nashville, Tennessee with the dream of singing at the Grand Old Opry. Her vocal talents were good enough to become apart of a country western group known as the Trail Riders.

During her time away from singing, Cora attended wrestling matches at the famous Hippodrome in Nashville. It was her first exposure to live professional wrestling and she was easily drawn to the spectacle. Here Cora witnessed the acclaimed Women's World Champion Mildred Burke. In 1949, Cora was able to get in the backstage area and meet Nashville promoter Nick Gulas, who introduced her to renowned women's wrestling promoter and trainer Billy Wolfe. Cora brought her singing career to an end and moved to Columbus, Ohio to begin an intense training regime at Wolfe's wrestling school. It was not long before she was on the road seeing many parts of the country and wrestling some of the greats of the sport.
