Mercedes Waukago was a womens pro wrestler, better known by her ring name, Princess Tona Tomah
Tona was born on June 5, 1935 on the Whitearth Indian Reservation in Minnesota.
She got her training from Mildred Burke.
Tona was one of the few legitimate Native American professional wrestlers.
She was in the first sanctioned women's boxing match in Arizona.
Tona was involved in law enforcement as well as boxing and wrestling.
On June 15, 2007, Princess Tona Tomah passed away at the age of 72 in Phoenix, Arizona. It was the same day Sherri Martel passed away.
