Mary Lillian Ellison, 84, the Fabulous Moolah, Is Dead

Mary Lillian Ellison, whose flying drop kicks, flying head scissors and hair-pulling “flying mare” body slams brought her renown as the professional wrestler the Fabulous Moolah, died Friday in Lexington, S.C., near her home in Columbia. She was 84.

Hundreds gather to remember "The Fabulous Moolah"
COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) - To say goodbye to a South Carolina legend - hundreds went Tuesday night to remember the woman known in pro wrestling as "The Fabulous Moolah."
She'd move away, and her name would change, but it all started in South Carolina for Lillian Ellison. She was born in the Palmetto State.

Lillian Ellison, a professional wrestler known as the "Fabulous Moolah," died Friday. She was 84.
“I love old people and I love babies,” she told The State two years before her death. “And if anybody else steps in my way, I’ll just kick (their butt). That’s the way it is.”'

Fabulous Moolah died after shoulder surgery
Legendary professional wrestler Mary Lillian Ellison — aka the Fabulous Moolah, who died Friday in Lexington — might have died from a heart attack or blood clot, said her daughter, Maryetta Austin.
