WWF: Stacy " The Kat " Carter, part 2

On October 29th, Eddie Guerrero (as part of his feud with Chyna) challenged Chyna to a match on Sunday Night Heat. Instead, The Kat would come out in her 'Chynette' clothing to Chyna's music, which led to a match on the following RAW between Eddie and Chyna, with The Kat in Eddie's corner. After Chyna failed to win, she took out her fustrations on The Kat by hitting her with a Chyna Bomb. The angle was then dropped at the request of Chyna.

After this, The Kat would make only occasional appearances on WWE programming, but not in any major feud or match. One such occasion saw her dressed in a red furry bikini, Santa hat, and robe, giving presents to Jerry 'The King' Lawler.

At No Way Out 2001 Steven Richards defeated Jerry 'The King' Lawler after The Kat accidentally hit Lawler with Ivory's Women's Championship belt. As a result of pre-match stipulations, The Kat was forced to join Right to Censor. Had The King won, The Kat would have been 'free to strip' and allowed to expose her breasts to the crowd. Also as a result of the loss, The Kat was forced to wear a black bag over her body with 'censored' written on it whenever she was on TV.

On February 27th, Carter was released from the WWF because Vince McMahon decided not to end the angle with the Right to Censor. It was rumoured that The Kat was fired because of a negative backstage attitude and worries that if she was made any more popular, she would be 'impossible to control'.

No further mention of her was made on WWF programming, except for a backstage promo by the Right to Censor where Steven Richards asked Val Venus "How could you let her do that to you?" regarding the storyline where the The APA and The King had The Kat 'seduce' Val. The WWE went ahead with the promo, simply leaving out any mention of who 'her' was. The WWF also changed the match at WrestleMania X-Seven to feature Tazz instead of The King, as he had left the WWF in protest of The Kat being released. The Kat was never mentioned again on WWE programming, but images of her (mostly of her about to expose her breasts at Armageddon 1999) were used in promos featuring the history of the Divas.

Stacy Carter worked in a doctor's office before meeting Jerry Lawler at a charity softball game in Memphis, Tennessee on July 23, 1989. Lawler and Carter became a couple, and Carter then trained as a cosmetologist before opening her own hair salon called "A Perfect Cut". In 1996, she began working alongside Lawler. Carter appeared in the film Man on the Moon (1999) as the girlfriend of Jerry Lawler. Carter married Jerry Lawler on September 29, 2000 in Las Vegas, Nevada, becoming the stepmother of Lawler's son Brian "Grandmaster Sexay" Lawler, despite being just three months older than him.

In 2001, Carter had meetings with Hugh Hefner about posing for Playboy. However, when she was fired from the WWF, Playboy decided not to negotiate so as not to risk damage to their mutually lucrative relationship with the Federation (Sable and Chyna had both appeared in issues which sold very well). Her firing led to Lawler actually walking out on the WWF (He returned later that year).

Carter and Lawler separated in July 2001 and later divorced, and on March 10, 2003, Carter was awarded a cash settlement and ownership of Lawler's condominium in Fort Myers, Florida, where she currently resides. Lawler was subsequently fined over his discussion of their relationship in his book It's Good to be the King...Sometimes because of a court order that prohibited him from making "disparaging remarks" about her.

Carter now works in the field of real estate in Southwest Florida and has completely severed all connections with the wrestling industry.

WWF: Stacy "The Kat " Carter - Part 1

WWF: Stacy "The Kat " Carter
WWF: Stacy "The Kat " Carter

Stacy Carter (born September 29th, 1971 in Memphis, Tennessee), better known as Miss Kitty or The Kat, is an American former pro wrestler and valet. She is best known as the ex-wife of wrestler Jerry "The King" Lawler. And yes she once held the WWE Women's Wrestling Championship.

Stacy Carter first appeared on WWF RAW in August 1999 as Miss Kitty, an assistant to Debra, appointed to her by Jeff Jarrett as a reward for coming back to work for him after a feud with D'Lo Brown. Within the next few months, Jarrett rejected Debra after a tag-team loss against Stephanie McMahon and Test, 'promoting' Miss Kitty to be his new manager.

Subsequently, Jarrett became involved in a feud against all of the women in the WWF by attacking them and wrestling 'miss-matches' against them while Intercontinental Champion. Jarrett would use Miss Kitty to gain an advantage, and in some cases, leave her to get beaten by his opponents. One such occasion was a mixed tag-team match that pitted Jarrett and Carter against Mae Young and The Fabulous Moolah. Jarrett refused to tag in, allowing Miss Kitty to be defeated by the far more experienced wrestlers.

The partnership ended when Jarrett left the company after losing the title to Chyna at No Mercy 1999. Because she won the match, Chyna also won the services of Miss Kitty. Carter then became a 'Chynette', dressing in 'Chyna-like' clothing and dying her hair black. It was also at this point that she changed her name simply to The Kat.

At Armageddon 1999 in December 1999, Miss Kitty won her only WWE Women's Wrestling Championship in a Four Corners Evening Gown Pool match by defeating champion Ivory, Jacqueline, and Barbara "BB" Bush. The Special Guest Referees were The Fabulous Moolah and Mae Young. After the match, Miss Kitty stripped out of her dress in celebration and flashed the crowd her breasts, before being covered up. This was The Kat's most infamous moment. This highlighted the "T and A" era of women's wrestling and showed what the division had become - more known for gimmicks and curves than actual wrestling ability. The Kat was cheered simply because she'd shown her breasts and because she might do it again.

Carter later lost the title on the January 31st edition of RAW to Harvey "Hervina" Wippleman in a 'Lumberjill Snowbunny Match'. Around the same time, the partnership between herself and Chyna was 'ended' with no explanation.

The Kat appeared at the Royal Rumble 2000 in the 'Miss Royal Rumble Swimsuit Contest'. She appeared in a bikini made out of bubble wrap. However, the contest was 'won' by Mae Young.

The Kat then entered into a lengthy feud with Terri Runnels. At WrestleMania 2000, Terri (accompanied by The Fabulous Moolah) defeated The Kat (with Mae Young) in a Catfight. Val Venis was the Special Guest Referee, but was distracted when Mae kissed him in response to Val making out with both Terri and The Kat. This allowed Moolah to pull The Kat out of the ring, and when Val saw her out of the ring, he declared Terri the winner. Post-match, The Kat attacked Terri by stripping her black pants off to expose her thong.

On the April 10th edition of RAW, The Kat was tricked by Terri into visiting a beauty salon to 'bury the hatchet'. Instead, Terri drugged her and gave her a bad cut and dyed her hair. As a result, The Kat changed her hair color and style on a regular basis, which would become part of her new gimmick. The feud would continue to an Arm Wrestling Match at Insurrextion 2000. The feud was cut short to allow Terri, now aligned with Perry Saturn, to feud with Chyna and Eddie Guerrero. The feud resurfaced in a 'Thong Stink Face' match at SummerSlam 2000 as part of Saturn's feud with Al Snow over the WWE European Championship. The Kat won the match by delivering a stinkface to Terri.

Bull Nakano - Women of Wrestling

Bull Nakano (Keiko Nakano) is a former Japanese female pro wrestler.

At the age of 15, Keiko Nakano began her career as a pro wrestler in her homeland of Japan. She trained and performed with the All Japan Women's Pro-Wrestling wrestling promotion (AJW), and quickly became one of the greatest heels in the history of Japanese women's pro wrestling.

After winning the AJW Junior Championship under her real name, her identity was changed to Bull Nakano and she teamed with the legendary Dump Matsumoto to feud with the popular Crush Gals (Chigusa Nagayo and Lioness Asuka). With Matsumoto as her partner, Nakano won the WWWA Tag Team championship. She would win the title a second time with Condor Saito as her partner.

Nakano briefly wrestled for the WWF in 1986 teaming again with Dump Matsumoto known as the Devils of Japan.

In 1990, Nakano won a tournament to win the vacant WWWA World Heavyweight Championship, and would go on to hold the title for nearly three years, before dropping it to Aja Kong.

Nakano also travelled to Mexico where she captured the CMLL Women's title, becoming the first person to hold that belt. She then made her way to the United States and competed for the World Wrestling Federation. Brought in by Luna Vachon, Nakano dominated the WWF Women's champion, Alundra Blayze, in a series of matches and won the WWF Women's Championship on November 20, 1994 in Tokyo, Japan. Thus, Bull Nakano is the only person to have held both the WWWA World Heavyweight Chamionship and the WWF Women's Championship, both of which have a historic lineage, dating back to 1937 and 1956 respectively. Consequently, she is also the first female of Asian descent to win the WWF/WWE Women's Championship.

Nakano held the title for five months, until losing the title back to Blayze on April 3, 1995 in Poughkeepsie, New York. The WWF had planned on bringing in Bertha Faye to feud with Nakano while Blayze got a nose and breast job, but Nakano was found in possession of cocaine and quickly fired from the company.

Nakano returned to Japan, where she continued to compete in AJW, then went back to the United States in 1996 to feud with Blayze, now going by her original ring name, Madusa, in World Championship Wrestling (WCW).

That was the last time Bull Nakano was seen on North American television. She continued to wrestle in Japan, but retired in 1997 to pursue a career in professional golf.

In the years following her retirement, Nakano began to diet and gradually lose much of the weight she had to maintain to stay in her role as one of AJW's monster heels, going from a peak of 250 pounds down to 143 pounds. In 1998, Nakano released a book about her weight loss called Bull Nakano no Diet Nikki: 19-gou Size no Watashi ga 9-gou Size ni (Translated: Bull Nakano's Diet Journal: How I went from a Size 19 to a Size 9).

In January 2006, Nakano, still pursuing her pro golf career, joined the Duramed Futures Tour on the Ladies Professional Golf Assocation. She is currently based in Orlando, Florida, USA.

She managed many popular wrestlers in that area including Steve Corino, Rik Ratchet, Pat Kenney and The Inferno Kid. Soon after that, she began training to wrestle, and participated in many mixed tag matches. She had her first singles match in February 1998 where she lost to Little Jeanne, then known as Sweet Destiny. In 1999, she caught the eye of Tom Prichard, who was then a talent scout/trainer for the World Wrestling Federation (WWF), and in July 1999 signed a developmental contract with WWF. She began training with Prichard soon after. In October 1999 she made an appearance on "RAW" as one of The Godfather's Ho's and was attacked by Viscera. The Bette Boucher Story

The Bette Boucher Story
By Mike Mooneyham
Dec. 10, 2006

Barbara Ellison stands barely 5 feet tall, and loves to talk about gardening and grandchildren.

She's also pretty good at throwing a fishing line or a softball when she's not working at the Summerville Lowe's where she has been a fixture for the past 13 years.

Her Boston accent has been slightly compromised by living in the Lowcountry for nearly half of her 63 years, and the mix has given her a pleasant tone that is assertive yet soothing.

But don't let her soft, grandmotherly demeanor fool you.

For once upon a time, when pro wrestling was a weekly staple on grainy, black and white television, Ellison - known then by her stage name of Bette Boucher - was a queen of the mat. And although she wrestled professionally for less than 10 years, she carved out a special piece of ring history by winning the women's world heavyweight wrestling championship in 1967.
